Apple orchard. A Merdred coffee shop AU;

Ok, this is my first Merdred fanfiction – I would love it if people gave me AU that they wanted me to write, then I will do a chapter for each AU. Thanks and happy reading.

Little nudges started to push at his magic as merlin went about his business. Small, getting stronger but still hardly notable if wasn't so Intune with his magic. It was almost – sweet. The image of an apple orchard in summer flashed before his eyes. It brought the image of sharing a glass of lemonade in the shade. Pink blossoms falling of the trees then him placing them into curly raven hair with a barbeque sizzling in the distance – full of meat. Fresh cut grass being churned up by the running of bare feet while melodic laughter lifted the atmosphere. Young children with sticky fingers playing with farm dogs through felids of wheat. Drinks – both alcohol and soft – stood on tables along with bouquets of freshly picked flowers. Finally a youthful face – crystal green eyes shining and a large smile – pinned beneath him and seemingly enjoying it for laughs escaped through his throat. For some reason Merlin found that he really wanted to kiss that face.

The next thing he knew was that Gwen was shaking him and asking him what was wrong. Looking around he saw that he wasn't in a farmyard apple orchard with a beautiful boy under him but with Gwen in the kitchen of the café. Looking around, he saw Will and Freya out the front and hardly any people in it. "What was that Merls? You just blanked on me" Gwen was looking over him. "I don't know Gwen but I think it may have been a vision or something like that – I can't describe it" When he said that Gwen went and got a pad and pencil. When he couldn't describe something – he drew it. It helped him remember the details.

Half an hour later, Gwen came back to see a beautifully detailed drawing of an apple orchard in harvest time. Lots of people laughing, smiling and running around. All happy, all so flipping content. Merlin really wanted so badly to be in there with them. Then it happened, he had a sudden whiff of something entering the café; the same sweet apple scent but this time it had no vision with it. "It was a vision!" he yelled, starling Gwen and simultaneously knocking a pan of the side so that it clattered to the floor. Quite loudly. The scent was getting stronger as was the nudges of magic against his own. The person rounded the corner and oh by the triple goddess – he was adorable.

Tight, black curls covered his head and fell into his eyes – clear, intense and so green! A cute button nose and full plump lips were set into the round face that was smooth, pale and marked with freckles over his nose. Tight black jeans, scuffed up red converse, striped cotton jumper and a cream beanie hid his body from Merlins' view and completed the whole 'I'm adorable you have no choice but to love me' look. What topped it off was that it was the same face that Merlin had pinned under him in the vision. Watching him carefully, the boy calmly picked up the pot and placed it back where it was supposed to go. A tentative brush of magic crossed his, this boy had magic – powerful magic.

Merlin heard Gwens' voice in the back of his mind but didn't pay any attention to it. "Merlin, this is our new baker – Mordred. I'll leave him in your hands." Gwen winked at him and then walked away leaving them alone. Mordred started to talk with his head cocked to the side, "You saw it too – didn't you? The vision, about us?" Merlin nodded and before he could stop himself – he carved into the urge he had in the vision. He leaned down and planted a great big kiss on Mordreds' lips. Wrapping his arms around the smaller boys' waist, Merlin was once again hit with that delectable aroma. An aroma he got very used to over the next few years and then – with the help of the harvest he foresaw and a golden ring – for the rest of his life.
