A/N: This drabble takes place during KH 358/2 Days. Excuse me if I'm rusty. Feel free to take a look at my one-shot collection Extraordinarily Unexpected, where I upload my best story ideas so far (if I do say so myself). Enjoy! :)
"I'd like to show you something. C'mon," Xion had said, before taking Riku's hand and guiding him through one of her own dark corridors.
Riku had been curious to say the least, but he'd never expected to land in a magical winter wonderland. By the looks of it, it had just snowed, because the thick pack of snow on the ground was fresh, devoid of footsteps.
The silver-haired teen frowned as he took in his surroundings. Wasn't this Halloween Town? Where was the creepiness he was used to?
Not that he was complaining; this was a nice change.
It started snowing again. While Riku's gaze travelled to Xion, who had started building a mini-snowman, his thoughts automatically drifted back to the first time they had met. She was just like the Kairi he had grown to love at one point in his life, both in personality and looks, except that Xion was more withdrawn and a tad bit shy until she got to know you better. She had triggered something in his heart without knowing it herself. Something he had missed but feared at the same time. Perhaps that was why he kept wanting to see her again?
He knew it was wrong to think of her that way; it was too late to let feelings get involved in this mess. But he couldn't help it. She was intriguing, beautiful even.
"Riku," Xion said with a soft sigh, at once interrupting his train of thoughts.
She walked back to him and he could tell by just looking at her that she was a little bit disappointed at his lack of enthusiasm while she played in the snow. Well, what did she expect? She'd probably forgotten about the fact that snow was something new for him; it never snowed in Destiny Islands, after all. Riku was anything but used to the numbing cold.
At first he'd thought that she had glitters in her hair, but upon closer inspection, Riku realized that it was snow.
Before he knew what hit him, though, the dark-haired Nobody had reached for his blindfold. Riku's first instinct was to swat her hand away, but he couldn't bring himself up to do it.
"Maybe if you didn't wear this thing all the time, you would finally be able to see all the beautiful things that the worlds offer," she said softly, while taking off his blindfold.
Riku couldn't look away from her angelic face and her breath that formed tiny, visible clouds because it was so darn cold in this world. What made her look more adorable was the fact that the tip of her nose had turned red.
She halted when she could finally see Riku's aquamarine eyes. "And maybe then, people would be able to see your eyes too."
Slowly but surely, Riku lifted a heavily gloved hand to brush Xion's bangs out of her face.
"Thank you."
He now knew for sure that he was starting to fall for her...
