-About a month after the honeymoon-Max-

The reception had been amazing and I couldn't be happier Ari was dead and so was Omega and my physical scars were healing. The scars on my mind had left me fearing men expect for my Father and Nick. I had nightmares and flashbacks all the time random things triggering them a knife left on the kitchen counter, the chicken coup or even being in the back pasture. I walked with a slight limp occasionally if I had been straining my leg to much. My panic attacks would often leave me passed out on the ground as the flashback played back in my eyes. Nick or Fang as I had become more accustomed to calling him after our honeymoon proved to still be a good husband. I lay awake after a nightmare Fang slept peacefully next to me his chest rising and falling slowly. I got up and walked to the window and looked out at it and spotted midnight cantering around his corral.

"Hey demon horse I know I can't sleep either" I murmured softly.

"Nightmares again" came a deep voice from behind making me jump and spin around clutching a knife I had got as a wedding gift from my mother I kept it in a makeshift holster under my dress or shirt whichever I happened to be wearing.

"Easy love it's just me and you know I never got you a wedding gift yet you managed to get me two new mares and I haven't even gave you yours yet how lazy of me" he said easing the knife down that I was still clutching my knuckles white.

"What is it" I said as he walked to the closet and brought out a small brown package. I tore away the paper to reveal a halter while Fang brought the candle closer. It was leather with a metal name plate. "Midnight" was embroidered in the side and I looked up.

"Guess I could have put demon horse on it but Midnight seemed nicer" he said smirking at me.

"Oh how sweet a halter for a horse I'm not allowed to touch" I said frowning slightly but then managed a quick smile.

"Oh no you'll be touching him considering he is yours now I got him a stall cleared out and everything, granted you can get him in there that is." Fang said wrapping me up in his arms.

I squealed and look out the window where the black horse was now looking towards house as if knew what had just happened he neighed.

"Oh my thank you thank you I'll take good care of him" I said hugging him tightly.

"He isn't broke yet but I can't get on him so I'm going to let you just promise me one thing" he said eyes boring into mine.

"Depends" I said raising an eyebrow

"Don't break him without me out there I don't want you getting hurt too bad and nobody being around." He said his eyes boring into me.

"I promise so long as your not going to freak out the first time I get bucked off or fall off him and get hurt." I said sternly eyes boring into his my face set with determination.

"Fine but don't be reckless he is a thousand pound animal capable-"

"I grew up around horses I know exactly what they can do to a person" I said crossing my arms

He chuckled and shook his head. Looking out the window at the horse.

"Your the same you know both of you are tough as nails but inside are frightened into fighting harder and stronger your both beautiful and you both have to have your way." He said lightly chuckling a bit.

"Heck ya we are and I'm not scared" I said even though he was right.

"Maybe of me and your father but any other man" he said giving me a look that said he knew he was right.

"Come on let's go to bed" I said turning away from him and pulling the blankets up.

"Ari is gone Max no body has said a single thing negative about the matter everybody is glad he is gone, nobody's come after us and nobody will." Fang said rubbing my back.

"Goodnight Nick" I said tensely. I heard him sigh and turn away and we fell asleep.

-next morning-

I woke to the light blinding behind my eyelids. I opened them to find the window open and a fresh cool breeze coming in the room. I smelled coffee from the kitchen and knew I had to get up I sat up and saw Fang was gone and so slid my dress on and walked downstairs.

Fang was sitting at the dinning table and Lisa was making eggs. The minute the smell hit my nose my stomach turned and I ran from the room toward the out house I had just made it off the porch when I started puking.

"Max what's-" Fang came out stopping mid sentence as I puked and gasped for air.

"Look away go back to work" I heard Nick yell and I felt his hand on my back a moment later.

My stomach was still churning and my head felt like it weighed a hundred pounds.

"I'll call the doctor go rest" Fangs said helping me up the stairs. I laid in our bed and drifted off only to be waken up to someone's hand on my forehead.

Doctor Penny stood above me and smilies at me when he saw I was awake.

"No fever, no sweats, no rashes or spots of any kind correct" he said with a knowing smile

"No" Nick and I answered at the same time causing me to blush.

"How are you feeling now Max" he said sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Just fine actually it's weird I was fine then I smelled the eggs and my stomach just churned" I said frowning.

"Well unless the eggs are truly terrible I'd say there is a good chance there may be a little one on the way." He said rubbing my leg.

I gasped and Nicks eyes widened.

"You had your honeymoon recently yes" Doctor Penny asked smiling.

"Yes" I whispered touching my hand to my stomach.

"We can't be sure yet but that's my best guess if things get worse call me as for the morning sickness it will pass and you Mr. Walker make sure she drinks plenty of fluids and doesn't lift anything to heavy other wise it's life as normal." He said standing and grabbing his bag from the bed table.

Fang just nodded and handed the doctor a small coin bag.

Doctor Penny looked back at me then left. I looked at my stomach it looked the same.

I stood and walked to mirror lifting my dress to see my flat stomach no bulge no sign that said hey look I'm holding a baby.

"I-I'm-I didn't-I'm sorry" I mumbled lowering my dress.

"For what, being pregnant, it simple means we've done our job well on the honeymoon." He said easily rubbing my back.

I looked at him searching his eyes to see if he was angry. All I saw was golden flakes of joy and happiness and comfort.

"So what do you want for breakfast, eggs perhaps" he said chuckling at the last part.

"No. I mean no thanks." I said quickly. Causing him to laugh even more.

"Toast then" he said smiling and leading me down the stairs.

"Toast sounds amazing" I said and my stomach growled in agreement.
