The bell rang on the last day of school before summer vacation in a small school of San Francisco.
Annabeth took her back pack and started to walk towards the exit. She had been the new kid on school that year. She was very good looking; she had long curly blond hair, and beautiful grey eyes. Due to her appearance, guys all over school had asked her out during the first weeks of school, but the girl was determined to be left by herself.
She didn't make a single friend during the year, and after her classmates found out that she was dyslexic and had ADHD, they started to laugh behind her back, and sometimes they even dared to call her freak right to her face. Annabeth didn't really care, in fact she had chosen to be on that state and focus in her studies, and she didn't really feel like she fitted in that environment, she was part of something bigger; she was a demigod, daughter of Athena goddess of wisdom and battle strategy.
That's why, when she came out of the school, she was reading some book about architecture, not paying attention to her surroundings.
She stopped at the gate and looked away from her book, glancing towards the other girls of her class, who were all together giggling and pointing towards a boy who was with his back on the school wall playing with a pen.
-Girls! He's so hot!-
-Oh my god! I'd do everything to him!- said Jane Adams, cheerleader captain.
"Baah! Stupid Adams!" thought Annabeth looking back to her book, that girl was responsible of making Annabeth's year a living hell.
She was so concentrated in her book that she almost walked by the guy on the school wall without even looking at him.
Suddenly she stopped her steps, "It can't be him, I must be daydreaming" thought Annabeth. She turned around instinctively after hearing a noise coming from the place where the guy was standing.
Annabeth just stared at him with a shocked expression, the guy was wearing converses, jeans and an orange t-shirt in which "camp half-blood" could be read, he was a head taller than her and had short black hair and bright green eyes.
-Percy- she tried to say, but no sound came out of her mouth.
Annabeth stayed right where she was, just staring at Percy, still in her shocked expression.
-Hey Chase! Stop staring at him! You'll never get a guy like that! I bet he has a better taste!- said Jane Adams walking towards Percy. But neither Annabeth nor Percy were listening to her, instead they were lost into each other's eyes without noticing what was going on outside their little bubble.
-Wise girl- said Percy taking a step closer to her.
-Percy! Thank Athena! Percy!- she said running into his arms.
When she got to him hey hugged, Annabeth didn't know how much time they stayed there, holding each other, not noticing all the angry faces of the other girls of her class shooting daggers at them…
When they separated they just stood there, looking into each other's eyes.
-I missed you seaweed brain- whispered Annabeth, and right then, after a whole year of separation, he leaned in and kissed her.
