Dedicated to Wind, because I know she likes her shota, yes she does. I leave their ages up to the imagination, but I wrote it as if Daisuke was 6 and Taichi was 9. What a coincidence that turned out to be…

It was a lovely summer day in the city of Odaiba: comfortable 74 degree temperature, a light breeze, and not a cloud in the sky for as far as the eye could see.

Two young boys walked hand in hand through a small park, the younger giggling happily at a story the older was telling.

"You're so cool Taichi-senpai! You really beat up those scary kids by yourself?!" the smaller boy asked excitedly.

The older boy made a great show of beating the air triumphantly with his fists and nodded, his wild mop of brown hair overshadowing his companion in the process. "Course I did! They were mean to you, so I made them regret it."

Daisuke's eyes swelled with awe and he stared gratefully up at the brunette. "Wow! I wish I could be as strong as senpai!"

The pair shared a laugh and Taichi ruffled Daisuke's burgundy hair playfully.

"Well, just try an' stay outta trouble this weekend Dai. I have to go to my aunt's wedding, so I won't be around."

Daisuke's expression instantly fell. "That's no fun. Hey, what's a wedding senpai? Can you eat it?"

Taichi chuckled lightly. "No, you can't eat it. A wedding is when two people get married." he explained. "My mom did say there would be a big cake though."

The redhead's face lit up on hearing that. "Cake! Can I come, please Taichi-senpai, can I come?" he begged.

"Sorry, we're only allowed to bring family. I bet most of it will be boring though."

"Aww, no fair!" Daisuke pouted. He plopped down on the soft grass and crossed his arms indignantly. "What's getting married mean anyway?"

Taichi stood beside him and thought for a moment. "Well, I think its when two people who really like each other dress up nice and say they'll be together forever and then eat cake."

Daisuke suddenly sprang up and clung to Taichi, wrapping his arms around the older boy's waist. "I wanna marry Taichi-senpai then!" he cried possessively.

A pained look passed over the brunette's face for the briefest of moments before he shrugged it off and forced a chuckle at his friend's antics. "I don't think we can get married Dai."

Daisuke pouted again and looked up sadly. "But why not?" he asked, unused to being refused anything by his idol.

"Because its not allowed. Grownups don't like it."

"But that's not fair! We should get a cake too! I've been really good lately and I wanna marry Taichi-senpai!"

Poor Taichi sighed, sensing a full-blown tantrum approaching, and knelt down so that he and Daisuke were eye to eye. Daisuke blushed slightly at the sudden closeness, but remained silent, waiting for the brunette to speak.

"Look, I'll bring you back some cake okay?" Taichi offered, hoping to satisfy the younger boy.

Daisuke beamed and nodded, "You're the best senpai!" He hugged Taichi quickly and took off ahead down the pathway, his anger completely forgotten.

Taichi stood and watched his friend run, a mixture of relief and sadness running through him.

"C'mon senpai, I bet you can't catch me!" Daisuke yelled wildly over his shoulder.

If Taichi was troubled, he didn't show it; instead he took off running after the redhead, the fire of competition burning in his eyes.

Thinking would come later, for now he'd just enjoy the fun.
