Drabble: You make me happy
Regina turns away, she wants to run, but Robin catches around the waist before she can move too far. She has tears in her eyes, she struggles against him because she doesn't want him to see her cry.
He keeps a firm hold on her, keeps his arms wrapped tightly around her slim waist.
She uses her nails to scratch at his hands, hoping that that would make him let go so she could run.
He grabbed hold of her hands, criss-crossing his arms around her, so he could hold her against him and hold her hands still.
Regina supposed she could use magic to run away from him, but she couldn't bring herself to poof out of there, instead she allowed him to turn her in his arms, and lets him see her tears. She brings her hands up to rest on his jacket covered chest.
"I don't believe you," Regina said once she was face to face with him, sort of, she made sure to avoid eye contact. Tears were streaming down her cheeks as she kept her focus on the collar of his shirt.
"You don't believe that I love you?" He asked solemnly. He wasn't wounded, on some level he expected her to not believe him, but it hurt him to see her in such distress. He moved his hands from her waist and covered her hands that were still on his chest, "Why don't you believe me?"
Regina made eye-contact with him finally. She gave him a grave are-you-serious look, "Because, you are good, and honorable, and..."
"And I love you," He cut in.
"What about everything that has happened? What about your wife and family? What about what I did?" Regina felt like she was losing her mind. How could he possibly love her?
"I am more concerned with the present, Regina, not the past. I was angry when I found out what happened. Rightfully so. Now," He paused and took a deep breath, "my heart can't take anymore anguish."
Regina shook her head. She didn't understand what he meant.
"You make me happy," he explained, and lifted hand to gently wipe a tear from her cheek. He returned his hand to her's, which was still resting on his chest. He lifted her fingers up and pressed them against his lips.
"What about your son?" she inquired. He didn't want to see little, sweet Roland hurt.
"Roland is part of the reason I am here right now," Robin confessed. Then chuckled when Regina gave him a weird look, "He is so wise for being so young. Do you know what he told me last week? He said, 'Papa, why can't you be friends with Gina again? You smile the most when you play with her.'"
"He said that?" Regina looked at Robin wide-eyed.
"Yes, he did," Robin nodded.
With that new revelation, Regina closed eyes for a moment, then drew Robin in for a warm kiss. What stared out as slow, soon turned into something heated. She wrapped her arms around his neck and gave him hungry, wet kisses. He followed suit by wrapping his arms around her waist and lifting her just a bit.
She makes him happy, and he certainly does the same for her.
