Legend of Zelda: The Twilight War
Prologue
Long ago, the Golden Goddess created a world-of which was deemed 'Hylia'. It was a prosperous land, and when departing, the goddesses left behind a golden power most know as the Triforce. It lay hidden, protected by six trustful sages. Of course, this attempted peace wasn't to last. A great evil arose from his confines, and stole a piece of this great power. His heart was unbalanced, filled with rage and malevolence. Thus, the golden gift split into three: Power (the piece taken by aforementioned evil), Courage, and Wisdom. These pieces fell to those most worthy.
Even separated, each of the pieces held immense magics and power. Being the holder of power, this gave the demon king such abilities that remained, at that time, unrivalled. He used this to his advantage; of course he'd wished for the other parts also but none were able to prevent him from seizing Hyrule-and soon, the world. He promised prosperity to the Twili's in exchange for their services in the uprising. Many agreed, though some saw through his lies, and saw the great evil in his heart. They paid the price-and this included the king, queen, and direct heirs to throne. This led to many uncertainties with joining his cause, howbeit this monarch merely cast those aside. Any followers with doubts kept it to themselves, or were turned to a beast most fearsome. Natheless, many civilians still held hope of the fated hero to once again take up the legendary blade and slay the great king of darkness. To once again, live in peace... was a wish even the king's trusted men yearned for.
