Untitled Poem by Crystal and Rebecca
My friend Crystal and I wrote this poem one day when we got bored in choir. Crystal would write until she ran out of ideas, and then I would write until she ran out of ideas. Crystal's lines are in bold and mine are in italics. We got the idea for it after Crystal saw "The Labyrinth" and went around quoting it for days. The first line of the poem is a line from the movie. I myself have not seen the movie yet.

"The castle doth lie yonder my lady",
he called as he jumped up and down,
"Onward! Onward! Though night be shady.
On through the goblin town!"
"The goblins might eat us and gnaw our bones!"
Cried his lady so fair and young,
"Nonsense!" he said in a most prideful tone
And then spoke in foreign tongues
"M'hala mi'eh ae nostros elle coolay!"
She asked, "What do you mean?"
He replied "Not if we soak them in orange kool-aid
The idea's not as stupid as seems!"
"Forward my steed! For we ride on!"
And they rode till the break of day
"Though the journey may seem long
And hard may seem the way
The end will come sooner than you think,
We'll achieve our noble goal,
We'll stand at the edge of danger's brink,
Just a little further to go!
Then I'll whip out my sword before their King
And slay him, yes I shall!
The clashing of swords will loudly ring
And I'll fulfill my vow
I'll wed you by the morrow's light
And together we will live
We'll bask in fame and glory bright
And freedom to all people give!"
