Notes: I'm pretty conflicted on making this a series featuring all of all of the Paladins backstories, (loosely based off of Marina and the Diamonds songs) so it would be nice to hear what you guys would think about that in the comments. Oh, and of course, this one is obviously based off of Numb. (Hence the title)
This first one is going to be pretty short, but the others should be longer
Lance couldn't find anything that stuck with him. At school, he was just disinterested in all of the subjects. Math was hard, English was boring, Science wasn't fun unless they had a project, and Social Studies was just confusing. Who cares what George Washingmachine did?
Lance, at only seven years old, was used to the usual boredom that came with going to class everyday.
His teacher, Mrs. Knight, always tried making class engage able for all of her students, including him. Actually, she tried to engage him more than some of the others. He guessed that it was just obvious that he wasn't all that interested or excited at any of the things being taught to him... Especially Social Studies.
It wasn't until early Monday morning when it was science being taught, that he found something he loved. His teacher called it, Space.
"We live in a place called the Milky Way!..." The rest of Mrs. Knights words fell onto deaf ears as Lance stared at the pretty picture taped to the whiteboard. The Milky Way? No wonder it had a candy named after it!
It was gorgeous. The conflicting colors and stars had Lance in awe. He couldn't help but stare at the pretty sight. It wasn't like anything he'd imagined.
He wanted to see it in person.
No, he needed to see it in person.
