AN: A one-shot. I swear, it's not angst!
Samurai, when ordered as a punishment, or chosen in preference of a dishonorable death at the hands of the enemy committed seppuku.
This was an unquestionable demonstration of their honor, courage, loyalty and moral character.
This most honorable form of death…
Seppuku
A One Shot
The days of the Samurai were long gone. Swords and armor were now aesthetic pleasures hung on mantles instead of necessities for war. Now wars were fought with mobile suits. The Gundam Pilots were the truest of samurai among all other warriors.
To Heero Yuy, the ultimate dishonor, defeat, was unbearable. He had self detonated many times in the presence of possible failure. He had come face to face with the horrible scenes of war: pain, destruction and death.
But none had quickened his pulse or wracked his nerves so much as the sight he faced now.
The smell of sweat and blood clung to her, it hung in the room. Her screams rang through him and he tried to meet her gaze in an attempt to comfort her. But the pain was too much…he was defeated.
Rather than watch her suffer any more, he ran.
He ran as fast as he could through the doors. Ran past the people and their questioning glances.
He kept going until he was stopped mid-run. A voice held him back.
"Wait! Mr. Yuy, It's a boy!"
Heero stopped mid-run. His fellow former pilots giving him wide grins in the hospital lobby. Even Wufei had an uncharacteristic grin plastered on his face.
His first child, he and Relena's first child was a boy.
AN: Hehe, I always pictured Heero as a nervous father.
