There's something about the way his dark eyes glowed and the way the green stood out on his suit right now as he stared into her eyes.
Alya's heart lurched, and she pressed closer, feather light touches lighting up across his veins.
"What brings you here again tonight, Carapace?" She wondered if it was wrong to be so close to him when her heart ached at the way that she and Nino had fallen apart over time just earlier this day, they'd called it off.
"I just had a hunch." The turtle clad superhero pressed against her, and she ignored the way that Trixx would demand her attention later, ignored the fact that her heart was still cracked and broken at the seams, and pressed closer as if to savor the slight shift of the air around them.
"Carapace?" She sighed as she pulled back, not leaving a kiss on his lips, half or more than half grateful that she had not.
A cat clad hero dropped down beside Carapace as if it was a silent signal to just go.
The green superhero gave her a slightly sad smile before he turned to one of his superhero companions, "Is everyone going on patrol today?"
"Just you, Ladybug, and me." Cat Noir shrugged, and Alya had never been more upset to see a superhero in her life; he could have at least waited until she and Carapace had finished talking.
"Alright, that's cool." His dark eyes found her as he swiveled to face her, "I'll see you later, Alya?"
"Yeah, yeah, you will." She hated the way her heart seemed to ache and lurch around him in longing; Carapace shouldn't get to her this way. She was still in love with Nino, knew it from the way her heart broke earlier today and never stopped, and she knew it from the butterflies that sometimes assaulted her stomach whenever Nino smiled at her in a particularly romantic way or did something sweet that was totally over the top.
Alya tucked her hair aside as Carapace jumped away right behind Cat Noir to meet Ladybug on the roof, who just smiled slightly down at her in a way that spoke of absolute understanding.
She smiled slightly back and waved, already wondering about whatever had Ladybug giving her that look.
Alya returned to her bedroom, sighing at the way her heart hammered in her chest, and the way that she wished that she could simply have Carapace or Nino back in her arms despite the way it ached to crave them both so much.
