Disclaimer: I do not own the characters of Gundam Wing, nor do I claim ownership over them.
AN: My first Gundam Wing fanfiction, written partly in an attempt to expand my writing profile. My tradition when starting writing about a new series is angst so don't expect happy fluffies.
Stars
A Gundam Wing One Shot
Once he'd been a child as well. The memories were faded, bits and pieces had broken off but the important parts remained.
When he was young he'd a love of the astrological bodies that inhabited the skies. Stars were a particular passion for him. Even after his training as a Gundam pilot erased all childhood memories; his partiality towards stars remained. There it lay, tucked inside his heart only to come out during those solitary missions where his only companions were the stars that lit the expanses of space.
Her eyes had been like stars. They glowed and twinkled. They gave off an ethereal glow which was without equal. They'd glowed like that the first and last time they made move. Those stars had been filled with passion, joy and tenderness towards him. He had taken her just onceā¦and then left.
Now the much older version of himself watched her casket be carried through the streets. The golden color of the varnished wood reminded him of her hair. Behind all the pomp walked her daughter. Beside her were Quarte, Duo and Trowa. Wufei had died the year before and they were all a little grayer for it.
This girl, her daughter, looked nothing like Relena. Her hair was dark chocolate, skin a tanner color than her mother's creamy porcelain. Her build was a slim and tall as her mother's and there was a certain power about her. It was a silent aggression that was heightened now by the death of her mother. Her eyes were a darker shade of blue as well. They were midnight instead of dawn.
Yet as she lifted her head to look upwards, struggling to regain her composure her eyes glowed.
They glowed.
The eyes of their daughter were like stars too.
