Title: once in forever
Series: "Supernatural"
Disclaimer: Eric Kripke owns, yessir.
Warnings: Spoilers for season five. Halo-verse AU-AU.
Character(s)/Pairing(s): Dean, Lucifer, Sam.
Rating: PG/K+
Other: This is not going to happen in my series. I sobbed a little when I wrote it. It's therapy of some kind for me.
Sam doesn't understand.
He sees, he hears, and he feels, but he does not understand.
Sam did not spend eternity with Lucifer at his side, flying through Paradise, wing tips brushing in familiarity.
Sam is not the one Lucifer spread his arms for.
Sam is not the one who stepped into them, enfolding the other in a tight embrace.
Sam is not the one who kissed Lucifer's face, whispering into his ear how much he loved him and how sorry he was.
Sam is not the one who slipped a blade between Lucifer's ribs.
Sam is not the one who felt Lucifer freeze in his arms, breath stilling in shock.
Sam is not the one who Lucifer looked to, confused and betrayed and so very, very young.
Sam is not the one who Lucifer nodded against, finally understanding.
Sam is not the one who held Lucifer as his Grace exploded around them, black wings forever etched into the wall behind him.
Sam is not the one who howled in grief, clutching the empty vessel to him, sobbing brokenly into its hair.
Sam is not the one who killed his brother.
Dean is. Michael is. He is.
Sam will never understand.
Is Halo-verse back in action? Yes. Maybe. Hopefully. (Also, still confused on "who" and "whom." I need a beta sometimes.)
