Fragile Hearts
This is a poem, obviously. I do have some ideas for my next chapter of Sister Of A Baker, but on the way home from a college open house yesterday I was bored and decided to make up a poem on the pad of paper I brought to take notes on. I wrote it and showed it to my sister, who instantly knew who the poem was supposed to be written by and for. She wouldn't stop transitioning through smiling through the sweet parts and frowning through the sad. After which she told me it showed their emotions well, but that's just one person's opinion, my readers and reviewers matter too. So I want your opinion on my little poem. Of course I don't own Sweeney Todd, if I did don't you think I would've already written a poem or story about that?
Fragile hearts are hard to mend
Just because they're easy to fuse
Fragile hearts are hard to defend
Simply because they're simple to use.
Fragile hearts sing a sad song
They can be quite easy to break
Fragile hearts can do no wrong
Some bad memories are harder to shake.
A certain baker owns this heart
For a barber's love she'll strive
To another he owes his own heart
He doesn't notice she's alive.
Her fragile heart starts to flame
Whenever she sees his sly grin
She wishes he could feel the same
Her love for him cannot wear thin.
She wants his love
He wants her away
He's a dark angel from up above
She's an annoyance in every way.
Her fragile heart keeps her down
And she is much too kind
In unrequited love she'll drown
Her love for him will keep her blind.
So I hope that you enjoyed my poem. I acted on a whim and just went with what Mrs. Lovett's gut would tell her to say about how she feels about Sweeney, vs. how it seems he feels about her. Again, I hope that you liked it.
On two more personal notes. I have made a decision and, I'm going Dominican. I was accepted and so far, it's pretty certain that I'm going to D.C. next year! Oh, and more good news. I'm going to be an aunt, again! My older sister, who had a baby some time ago, is having another in a couple of days actually! It's exciting and my sister (whose one year older than me-not the prego one) and I are very excited to be aunts to two! Oh and, they already know it's a girl. So they talked it over and, they're calling her Emily!!! Corpse niece, lol.
