Okay, so this is the second Avengers fic I'm publishing today. They were actually written about a week apart, and it's taken me another week to finally get on the computer and publish these, because they were in my notebook. Sorry about that.
Anyway, I do not own The Avengers.
Yes
He supposed that, in reality, he should have expected something like this to happen. It was the 21st century, after all. But, while he guessed that it would happen eventually, he hadn't suspected it to happen this soon, especially not between... well, Tony and Clint. Sure, they got along really well, liked playing pranks on the other Avengers, and their favorite activity had to be beating the other in Call of Duty. But that did nothing to prepare him for the sight he found in the kitchen on Monday morning.
Steve normally found himself in the kitchen at about eight o'clock in the morning after having woken up at six, gone on a run, showered, and dressed. And, usually, he was the first one there. Tony and Bruce tended to sleep in after late nights in the lab, Thor would spend his mornings skyping Jane, Clint would be in the range, and Natasha would just be finishing her own workout.
Which was why, at eight o'clock, Steve was surprised to find Tony and Clint in the kitchen, especially with what they were doing.
He must have made some type of noise as to alert the two, because Tony broke away from Clint to murmur a quick, "Go 'way, Cap.", before diving back into the kiss.
Clint had, at some point, been lifted onto the counter, and his legs rested on either side of Tony. Tony himself had one hand gripping Clint's waist and the other was lightly resting on the back of Clint's neck. Both were dressed in sweatpants and T-shirts, and the only difference was the color.
But, even with the evidence clearly presented in front of him, he figured it'd take some getting used to.
Fortunately, it didn't. Once the two got together, they were always within touching distance unless they were in a battle. And Tony wasn't afraid to shower his new boyfriend with kisses, which Clint returned with cuddling.
So, in reality, Steve figured he really should have expected Tony and Clint to get together. Especially when, two years later, Tony dropped to one knee with a smile and presented Clint with a ring. And Clint didn't hesitate when he said 'yes'.
I hope you all enjoyed this, and please review! And yes, it is a coincidence that I've now had Clint proposed to twice by the same number of Avengers. :P
