This is right after Annie wins her games. Finnick has already arrived home and is waiting at the train station.
Sea Splashes
I'm tapping my foot, waiting for her.
When I see the train speed into the station, I'm the first one on the platform. I pretend not to notice the camera flashes behind me. It's not like it's a new sensation, anyway. The doors slide open with a gust of wind so strong it's all I can do to stay standing.
It's all I can do not to rush on the train to try and find her.
I see some white-cloaked Peacekeepers step off the train, their guns held close to their chests. Next, I see the District escort, Abacus, step off the train, her blue skin and pink tattoos clashing terribly with her neon orange wig.
Then I see her.
She's beautiful. She has a maddened look in her eyes, similar to the one i'm sure I sported after coming out of the games. Her brown hair flows effortlessly in waves down her shoulders and back, and I can't help but revel in her beauty like the rest of Panem.
But when those deep, piercing emerald green eyes meet mine, it's over.
I run to where she's standing, not letting go of her gaze once. I'm sure my latest string of lovers are wondering why I don't look at them like that.
They can't possibly believe I'm that shallow. The people in the Capitol are vapid, shells of human beings who always fail to see past the luxurious clothes and savory foods.
Her arms are open, and I fall right into them. I squeeze her so tight it would be impossible for her blood to still pump properly. I lift my head up, pull slightly back, and look into her eyes.
I lean back in and press my lips to hers.
After she gets over the shock, she continues the kiss. Presses harder, moans into my mouth. I don't care who's watching. She's my Annie, and it'll always be that way. Finally she pulls away and holds me at arms' length.
"Finny," she whispers.
"Annie," i reply.
We hug one more time and I take her hand in mine.
We turn and face the cameras, ready for whatever they have in store for us.
