As you can (hopefully) tell from the title, I'm looking for a Harry Potter fanfiction that I've lost track of. Yes; another one. *hangs head in shame* And I was all despairing and desolate when I thought to myself, hey! You know those insanely awesome people who helped me out of a similar situation a few months ago? Maybe they can do it again!
So guys, you up for it? Doesn't take a lot of time or research, just read the description below and see if you know the fic I'm looking for! If you do, please don't shrug and go, 'sucks to be her'. Review and put me out of my misery! Thanks!
So, the fic is HG/SS (Hermione/Snape), but it starts off as HG/TN (Hermione/Theodore Nott). It's a marriage law fic, and eligible bachelors and bachelorettes are placed in groups, and spend time getting to know each other, before the guys are allowed to choose who they'd like to marry. They place offers for the girls, who can accept or decline. Hermione is in a group with Draco Malfoy and Theodore Nott (only two I can remember, but there were others there). Her and Draco become friends, and he applies for her hand as a joke. Afterwards, she scares him a bit by insinuating that she accepted, before telling him that of course she declined. She gets to know Theo and he applies for her hand, and she accepts. Snape, who is taking in all the offers, warns her that they're not compatible and she basically tells him that he doesn't know anything. After marrying Theo, she finds out that Snape is his—wait for it—stepfather! So, she gets to know Snape a bit better, and then she realizes that he was right (of course, I mean, this is Snape we're talking about) and her and Theo aren't compatible. He wants to travel all around, never settle. She wants a family, a home. He leaves her (this is Theo, by the way) and packs up all of his stuff, flying off to some weird country, or something. Snape comforts (duh), Theo's mom is all like, MY LITTLE BOY DID WHAT? And yeah. That's what I can remember. So, if anyone knows what I'm talking about…well, doesn't that little button down there look tantalizing?
