Finally. I had finally made it. Hopes Peak Academy. After the success of the school in Japan, they decided to open a branch in Canada's capital, Ottawa. I was going to be part of the first class to ever attend it. Me, the simple Mike Bradley.
I looked at my letter again. "Dear Mike, we are glad to write that you have been invited to be part of the 1st Class of the new Canadian branch of Hopes Peak Academy. We assume you know how big of an honour this is, and expect you to join your fellow freshmen at orientation on the 4th September. We are glad to have you there as the Super High School Level-"
Funny. The letter seem to cut out from that point on wards...oh well, I'm sure i'll find out what my title truly is when I get there.
But thats when it all went wrong. The moment, I felt the most hope in my life, would soon be followed by the most despair inducing months of my dear life.

"Ugh...my head..." I woke up, hand on my head, in what appeared to be in a classroom. "What the...?" I asked myself. "What is this place..." I should really stop speaking to myself, my mum tells me that's a sign of insanity. Oh well. I moved up from my seat, and noticed some writing on the chalkboard. I walked up to it to see a message. "All Freshmen, report to the main hall for morning orientation, and don't be late! Upupu!" No idea what the last part meant, and next to it was a drawing of some weird looking bear. One side of it was white, and had a regular black eye, with a smile. The other was black, and had a red long eye, with a long stretched teeth smile.
I gave it one weird glance, and walked out the classroom door. Upon opening it, I was greeted with a sign, pointing out the School Gym, towards the left, and followed it. As I was walking, I noticed there were a lot of metal plates where the windows were meant to be, and there were an awful lot of CCTV cameras around. It was almost kind of...creepy.
Eventually, I stood outside a large brown door. I could hear voices coming from the inside. I took a deep breath, and opened the door.
Upon opening the door, 23 other teenagers turned to face me.
"Oh, looks like its not just us here." One dark teen gave a sly grin.
"Well, the announcement did specify there would be 24 of us here my friend." A Latino teen grinned.
"Hey, nice to meet you. Whats your name?" A short boy with a stripped shirt asked me.
"Oh, I'm Mike." I smiled back at him. "The name's Cody, but the others like to call me the Codmeister." He chuckled
Cody Anderson - Super High School Level Hacker
"No offence dude, but I'm sure no one calls you that." A boy in a black shirt with a skull on it, walked towards us laughing at Cody's overconfidence.
Duncan Jones - Super High School Level Delinquent
"Hey there's no need to burst his bubble there." A blonde girl in a blue hoodie pouted.
Bridgette Middler - Super High School Level Surfer
"I wouldn't call it that, as much as I would blatant honesty." The slightly dark teen from earlier commented.
Noah Anand - Super High School Level Author
"See? Bookworm gets it." Duncan harshly patted him on the back, causing him to drop his book and glare at him.
"Interesting...for someone who's name means 'joy' you don't seem to have a lot of it." The Latino teen from earlier chuckled.
Alejandro Burroumuerto - Super High School Level Manipulator
"How dare you say such a thing!? Take it back this instant!" A mocha skinned girl, wearing a brown shirt with a blazer screamed.
"I will not take it back, because its the truth!" The tall white girl, with black hair commented back.
"Oh great, Princess and Queenie are at it again." Duncan rolled his eyes.
"And you!" 'Princess' marched over to Duncan. I told you to stop calling me that!" She screamed.
Courtney Noels - Super High School Level Defence Attorney
Duncan smiled back. "I like it when you're angry. I should really go thank Heather." He added.
"Thank me for what." She scowled.
Heather Chang - Super High School Level Prosecutor
"What were you two even fighting over now..." Cody sighed.
"She claimed that my firm have been letting criminals get off the hook for years!" Courtney complained.
"But its true! You guys defended Bradley Kaits all those years ago, and he went on to kill again after he was convicted not guilty!" Heather rebutted.
"And I think you both forgot no one cares!" Noah added, which made me chuckle.
"What are you laughing at!?" They both screamed at me. I flinched, and decided to go talk to some others. I noticed a boy sitting on the bleachers, strumming a guitar. "Nice music man." I commented. "Thanks, I'm hoping to break out one day." He said back.
Trent Reed - Super High School Level Guitarist
"Does this place look...eerie to you?" He asked. "Not really...what do you mean?" I did a double take before responding.
"It just gives...a creepy vibe." He responded. "Oh well, maybe I'm just overreacting." He chuckled before going back to playing.
Next to him, facing the other direction was a girl, with blue and black hair drawing in a notebook.
"...Can I help you?" She asked.
"Oh, no sorry! I was just staring." I responded, waving my hands in front of me.
"...Its fine, just don't do it again." She said, rather harshly.
Gwen Stacey - Super High School Level Artist
"Come on Gwen, don't be so harsh with him." A short girl, with a brown ponytail added.
Beth Lawrence - Super High School Level Scout
"Whatever." Gwen simply said, not looking up.
Beth sighed. "Don't take it personally." She told me. I nodded and decided to move on to the others.
"98...99...100!" A boy with a whistle around his neck and cargo shorts, was on the floor doing press ups. "Great workout." He told himself, then looked towards me. "What's your name soldier?" He asked. "Um...I'm Mike." I responded, nervously.
"Nice to meet you, Brick McArthur, reporting for duty!" As he saluted me.
Brick McArthur - Super High School Level Cadet
"Nice to meet you too..." I said a little creeped out.
"Quit it jockstrap, you're scaring the new guy!" A girl in a hoodie and joggers slapped him on the back.
Jo Jackson - Super High School Level Sprinter
"Ma'am, I'd prefer it if you would refrain from doing that." Brick stated, glaring. "Yeah well, beat me in a race and then we'll talk." She put him in a headlock, as he began screaming for her to 'quit it'.
"Those two seriously need to get a room." A red headed boy, in a white tank top muttered.
Scott Larkson - Super High School Level Farmer
"Got a problem?" He said as he noticed me staring.
"No problem, just trying to get to know everyone." I explained. "Well look elsewhere." He snorted.
"Woah, cool it man. We're all classmates here, so we should try to get along." A tall Jamaican male stepped in.
"Whatever..." Scott walked off.
"Thanks man." I smiled at him.
"No problem." He fist bumped me.
Devon Joseph "DJ" Benson - Super High School Level Vet
"Will you please stop talking about zombies! I don't care!" Another Indian looking boy screamed.
"Hey man, stop hiding from the truth! It's just a government conspiracy!" The white boy with an orange beanie yelled back.
"What are those two fighting about?" I asked DJ.
"One believes in zombies, the other doesn't." He simply stated.
"Hey, new guy! You believe in the potential of the undead, right?" The boy in the beanie asked, grabbing onto me.
"Not really, no..." I said, slightly scared.
"Ha see, I told you!" The Indian boy in the vest triumphantly stated.
David 'Dave' Patel - Super High School Level Luckster
"Whatever man, don't blame me when you die!" The boy in the beanie screamed back.
Shawn Michael - Super High School Level Survivalist
"Logically speaking, I'd side with Dave. But hypothetically speaking, there is a chance." A red headed girl with glasses shrugged.
Scarlett Waterflower - Super High School Level Scientist
"Thank you!" Shawn hugged her and ran off cheering.
"How the hell did a guy like that get into this school..." Dave muttered.
A random 'womp' 'womp' 'womp' sounding noise of defeat came out of nowhere. A boy with a big beard of hair and a messy t-shirt grinned.
Beardo Brown - Super High School Level Disc Jockey
"Why can't you just talk!" Dave asked in frustration, to which the Disc Jockey just shrugged his shoulders.
"Oh my god, will you stop sighing already!? I might catch your loser disease." A girl in a cheer leading uniform sneered.
"Who are those two?" I asked.
"Amy and Samey, you thought Courtney and Heather were bad? These two are way worse." Dave sighed.
Amy Lawrence - Super High School Level Cheerleader
Sammy Lawrence - Super High School Level Journalist
"Sorry Amy..." The other girl rubbed her shoulder bashfully. "That's right Samey! And don't you forget it!" She sneered at the other sister.
I felt kind of sorry for her, no one deserves to be treated that way.
"Oh my god are you him!?" A pretty blonde girl came up to me. "You are him!" She pushed my head down into her...ahem...chest, in an attempt to hug me I assume. "Umm, whos him?" I asked.
"Don't worry, she's pretty much done that to every guy here..." Dave chuckled a little.
Lindsay Nowell - Super High School Level Model
"Oh wait..." Lindsay pushed me off. "No I was wrong." She pouted in disappointment. "Wait, I think I see him over there!" She began running over to Noah, who noticed here and began slowly backing away.
A girl could be seen, sitting on the bleachers on the side, eyes closed, humming away. "Hey!" I smiled, introducing myself. The girl stopped humming, and put her hand in front of me, I looked at it for a second, dumbfounded. She nodded her head, motioning as if I should know what to do.
I took her hand, and slowly, elegantly, she walked off the bleacher steps down to me. "Thank you, kind sir." She curtsied in front of me, causing me to be even more confused.
"Nice to meet you, kind sir, my name is Ella!" She said, beaming.
Ella Knight - Super High School Level Singer
"Nice to meet you, my name's Mike but...I don't remember what my talent is." I chuckled nervously. "Oh that's a shame! When you remember it do let me know!" She said, still beaming, before returning to the bleachers.
I looked over across the bleachers, towards the end. A single girl sitting there in isolation. She had long blonde hair, and wore a green sweater.
"Yes?" She said, noticing me looking over. "Oh nothing! I was just..." I struggled to find an answer.
"Its fine, you were curious as to who I am and what my talent is." She stated, turning back to facing the other side of the gymnasium.
I was curious as to how she knew that..."So what is your name and talent?" I asked.
"...I'm Dawn."
Dawn Masterson - Super High School Level ?
"Mic Test, Mic Test..." We heard a voice, coming from stage of the auditorium.
Soon, we all turned our heads and looked towards it. "What's going on..." Mike muttered to himself.
"Alright, let's get the main event rolling!" The voice added.
A bear jumped out, from behind the box onto the top of the podium on stage.
"Is that a teddy bear?" Jo asked, dumbfounded.
"I am not a teddy bear." The bear pouted. "I am a Monokuma!" He said, proudly.
"Oh, because that's so much more helpful." Noah rolled his eyes.
"And I..." He continued, ignoring Noah's comment. "Am the headmaster of this school!" He finished.
Well this is definitely weird, Mike thought to himself.
"Ok, stop with the bullshit already." Duncan scoffed.
"I agree, what's going on?" Courtney questioned.
"Nothing! It's nice to meet all of you! Welcome to your orientation students!" He pushed it aside, like nothing weird at all was going on.
"This...has to be a joke right? Where's the real headmaster?" Shawn asked.
"Yeah, probably a prank set up by the school!" Brick added, also scared.
"How dare you compare me to a children's toy!" Monokuma attempted to look hurt.
"Why don't you shut the hell up, and cut the bullshit!" Duncan went up to the Monokuma, and grabbed it by its front.
"Woah woah woah! Violence against the headmaster..." The Monokuma's red eye began to beep furiously.
"What's going on?" Duncan said, confused.
"Give me that!" Dawn ran up to Duncan, grabbed it out of his hands and tossed it into the air, where it then exploded.
Everyone stood there ,in horror and terror.
"Th-That could've killed me!" Duncan exclaimed.
"Did the bear just die...?" Gwen asked, frightened.
"Of course I didn't die, and I told you it's Monokuma!" The bear appeared out of thin air, standing behind us all once again.
"Where did you come from!?" Dave asked, shocked.
"That's not important! But anyway, why don't we get on with orientation, if there are no more interruptions." He glared at Duncan, who glared right back.
"Let's discuss your school life, first of all! As you guys know, you 'ultimates' are part of the hope of the world! Which is why your hope needs to live on! Which is why...you'll be living here permanently." Monokuma chuckled.
"Wait? So we don't even go home for the holidays?" Lindsay asked, confused.
"Aw thats cute, when I say 'permanently' I mean for the rest of your lives you idiots!" He chuckled.
"Wait what? Like in hell we'd do that!" Scott snorted.
"It's not like you have much of a choice..." The bear added.
"...You mean the metal plates on every window here right?" Mike added, pipping up for the first time.
"Correctomundo! Just to make sure you don't try to leave, not like you'd want to..."
"Wait, what do you mean by that?" Trent raised an eyebrow.
"Oh its not important! However...there is one way you guys can leave..." Monokuma added.
"What is it, I'll do anything if it gets me out of here..." Jo chimed in.
"In order to leave...you must...murder another student." Monokuma slowly explained.
"...M-Murder!? What kind of joke is that!?" Beth exclaimed, frightened.
"Stab, Poison, Strangulation, I don't care! As long as you kill another student and get away with it, its all good!" Monokuma chuckled.
"Sounds simple enough." Alejandro shrugged.
"See, that guy gets it!" Monokuma pointed over to him, as Alejandro received strange looks from his fellow students.
"Oh and before we end...check your pockets." Monokuma snapped his fingers.
Suddenly, the students noticed a beep noise coming from all their pockets.
Mike checked his pocket, and whipped out something that looked like a pocket phone.
"These are your Student Electronic ID Cards! Or Student-ID's, whatever you wanna call them. You can use these to call and message your fellow students, and open the rooms to your dorm rooms and it'll have...other uses you'll find out later, Upupupupu..." He chuckled.
"See, any other scenario and these would be pretty cool." Cody admitted.
"Anyway, that's all for now from me! Toodles!" Monokuma disappeared, into thin air.
And so...we were all left alone with our thoughts, not sure what to believe...
If we want to leave our own personal hell, we have to kill one of our fellow students? Another innocent human being our own age. Mike didn't care what the bear said, he wouldn't allow himself to fall into such despair, no matter what, he promised himself that
Author Notes -
Well yeap, thats chapter one of Total Drama Danganronpa! Originally I was going to do 2 separate stories for this, and Mike would've been the protagonist for the other but instead I decided to just take the most important 24 and put them into one school, oh well. Trust me when I say, some of your fav characters will die, and be killed by your other favourite characters. I had to make the list of survivors based on what made sense to me, and I'm pretty happy with the outcome I got. oh well, toodles.
