Remembering, Regretting
"Don't leave me Doctor. Please."
Tears poured down Rose's cheeks.
The Doctor could only stand there, staring at her.
"Please don't leave!"
Emotion was filling his body, tears hiding behind his eyes.
"I need you Doctor. I can't be without you."
He tried to reach out and grasp her hand.
She moved her hand out to take his, tears streaking her face, but her image was fading.
"NO!" the doctor shouted, voice quavering from the tears. The tips of their fingers touched for just a moment.
"I need you Doctor. I..." her voice trailed of as her body completely vanished from sight, leaving him alone, with his hand still reaching for her.
The Doctors eyes blinked open. He propped his body up quickly, regretting it as he did so because he gave himself a slight headache.
His body was covered in sweat and his hands were shaking.
Why couldn't he have grabbed her before she disappeared? What was she about say to him? Many other questions rushed to his head. His mind was racing.
The Doctor didn't have dreams. He just didn't. But why now, had this image of Rose come to his head? It had been at least three years since their emotional departure. Why was she suddenly coming to him in his dreams?
"I need you." Her voice ran through his head over and over again.
"Please don't leave me Doctor."
Alone in his bed, a tear rolled down the Doctor's cheek. One after the other. He shuddered and held his hands to his eyes, the tears starting to flow.
I love you. The words he never got to say to her. The ones he wanted to say so badly.
"I l-love you Rose Tyler" he said through the sobs as he pulled a blanket around his shoulders.
He could only sit there helplessly in his room; Remembering. Regretting.
