"Beep! Beep!"
The hospital corridor was, as usual, in its pristine white brightness. The only sounds were the beeping of the machines and the quiet shuffling of the nurses on duty that Christmas eve. A few people were walking around, with relatives, friends, and sometimes the hospital staff they had befriended during their stay in the hospital. A noticeable crowd of people though were seen in the waiting area.
"Shiki Senri, will you please stop pacing around and sit down?! You'll make a gigantic hole in the floor, "exclaimed an unusually tired-looking Ichijou Takuma. He sat beside his fiancée, Shirabuki Sara, who was chuckling softly at Senri's behavior. Beside her was Kain Ruka, formerly Souen Ruka. She and her husband, Kain Akatsuki, were teasing the newlyweds, namely Aidou Hanabusa and Sayori.
"So, so, when's the baby coming? "asked a grinning Ruka.
"R-Ruka! The hell are you saying?! "stuttered a flustered Hanabusa. Yori just blushed and gave a small smile. Seiren just smiled and Kaname chuckled quietly at the blushing duo. He was sitting opposite Takuma, with Yuuki beside him chatting with Seiren. Zero was at his other side, dozing with his head leaning on Kaname's shoulder. The newly-reinstated hunter just came from a mission abroad and rushed to the hospital as quickly as he could when Kaname told him the news. The two of them had confessed their relationship three years ago, and stood strong amidst all the storms they had to go through. They were now known as the royal couple, each being a prince of two separate worlds: the vampires and the vampire hunters.
"Senri, I do think you better sit down. And please breathe." Kaname admonished gently while grinning. Senri threw a dry glare at his cousin and sat down beside a newly-awakened Zero.
"So, any news? " asked Zero while rubbing his eyes. Senri shook his head and sighed.
Just then, the door opened. Everyone quieted down and waited for the doctor to make his announcement.
"Senri Shiki-san?"
"Hai, sensei?" Senri immediately stood up. The doctor looked at him and smile.
"Congratulations. You are the proud father of healthy twins. A boy and a girl."
The area erupted into cheers and squeals. Hanabusa and Akatsuki clapped the stunned Senri on his back. Kaname shook his hand and Zero grinned at him.
"Go see your girl." said the grinning hunter playfully. As if awakening from a trance, Senri immediately rushed inside to see Rima humming softly to the two bundles of cloth she was holding. She looked up and broke into the biggest smile Senri has ever seen. She then held up boh bundles and Senri took one. He looked to find a male child, with his hair color and just the slightest peek of eyes the color of Rima's.
"A boy… " he whispered. Rima grinned.
"Yes. And after all I went through, you say "a boy". How pitiful. I am never going to let you touch me again." she said, sticking out her tongue. She then cradled the baby girl closer.
"So, what will we name them?" Rima asked, smiling softly at her daughter who inherited her hair color and Senri's eyes. Senri smiled.
"Shiki… Renshi… and… Senna…"
Rima smiled at the names! "Perfect!" she grinned. "You do realize you owe me a lifetime's supply of pocky after what I went through?
Senri smirked. "After you gave me the best Christmas gift I can ever have, I think it's worth it."
