AN: Hey, guys! It's me again! Now, you might be wondering, Rawrz, if ya haven't finished your last story, why the heck are you writing this one? Weeeeelll... I often get stuck. And when I get stuck, I work on something else until I'm un-stuck. So this story will just be something I write when I have a brain fart on my main story, The Art of Pissing Off the Jedi Council. You might want to check that out, even if it's only got 3 chapters.
I've been fascinated by the story of the Furious Five from Kung Fu Panda, and I decided, well, why not make a Star Wars version of it? So that's this thing. Anyway, without further ado, here's Legend of the Furious Five.
Luke Skywalker, son of Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One, sighed as he walked through the gardens. He'd been teaching initiates all day and he was ready for a break, but there was still one more group to teach. If I learned anything from teaching, it's that my way right now is too tiring. I should do something different, he thought to himself wearily. He cast his mind around for some lifeline that could help him.
Of course! Brilliant. A story should do. One about the Jedi of the old, of course. But he didn't know many stories. He could, however, ask one person…
"Obi-Wan!" Luke said aloud. As if the name was a summoning, the blue, translucent ghost appeared before him with a smile. Spirits didn't age, so Obi-Wan looked exactly like he had in Luke's memory with a white beard and hair, and warm blue eyes. The spirit extended a hand, and Luke brushed his through it.
"What is it, Luke?" the ghost asked. "I believe you needed help with something?"
"Yes," Luke replied, nodding vigorously. "I need a good story about the old Jedi Order to tell the last batch of initiates."
Obi-Wan grinned. "Those little troublemakers got you? Well, I remember a tale that was in the Jedi Archives. It was popular among the younglings before it got destroyed. It's about the Furious Five, a collection of warriors that lived during different time periods but were all put together because they all had a good heart and spirit."
"Yes, please," Luke smiled. "That one is perfect."
Ghost and living side by side, they entered the courtyard where initiates were using training lightsabers to wreak havoc.
Younglings screamed and whooped, chasing each other around, waving the glowing blades around. Some were levitating each other off the ground, and others were using the Force to play a game of whoever-could-throw-the-rock-farthest-wins. All in all, it was a mess.
Luke sighed, and raising his voice, he yelled, "Alright! Alright, settle down!" Unsurprisingly, it was no use. Luke pinched the bridge of his nose and decided to try something different.
He and Obi Wan moved over to a corner of the courtyard, and Luke used the Force to pull hard on the training sabers. They flew out of the grips of surprised younglings and clattered into a pile by his feet. Every eye was on him.
"Get your bottoms on the floor, now!" Luke instructed. All the initiates cried, "The Grandmaster", and came and sat down in front of him before the last word left his mouth. Well, that was a good sign.
"We're going to learn how to fight with lightsabers, right?" One youngling asked eagerly. "Well, yes," Luke replied. They all cheered. "So we can kick butt!" one cried.
Luke glared at them. "No!" he sighed, exasperated. "That's not the only part of being a Jedi. It's not all just laser sword-fighting, no."
"But you said we were going to fight!" a Nautolan groaned.
"Being a Jedi is connecting to the Force. Master Yoda was so powerful in the Force he didn't have to use a lightsaber much at all." Luke sighed again inwardly.
"Who's Master Yoda?" a boy asked. Luke grinned as a picture of the wrinkly, little green alien came into his mind.
"He was the greatest Jedi that ever lived. But fighting didn't make him into that. No, he had to discover the Force and all its mysteries first. Only then did he become a great Jedi."
"So how do we learn about these mysteries?" a Togruta inquired excitedly.
Obi-Wan chose that exact moment to reveal himself to the younglings. They all gasped softly to see the ghost. "The Furious Five discovered the answers to those mysteries, too. Would you like to hear about them?"
"Yes, please!" the initiates all squealed at once.
"Settle, down, settle down, and make yourselves comfortable," the ghost quietly said. "And our story starts with a small but strong little warrior…"
