"I'm sorry," his broken whisper cracked on the blood tainted air shattering in the twilight. Tears fill his eye's, refusing to fall as he looks at his lover, cradled, broken and dying in his arms. A weak smile ghosts across pallid lips and blood stained fingers reach up to lay along Ed's face and the redhead closes his eyes turning into the faint caress, flinching at how cold the touch is. Swallowing back his grief his lightly kisses his lovers icy finger tips warm breath gracing chilled skin.
"Why do you sorrow my lover?"
A gentle sigh, feeble easily snatched away by Death's greedy hand.
"Because I have failed you."
"No my Beloved..."
A choked sob rips through Ed's body and his words fall as a soft whisper.
"I have lost you to Death."
A hushed laugh slips from Gin's mouth running onto the floor mixing with his blood.
"You have not lost me my lover; I will always be with you…even when I clasp Gabriel's hand in my own..."
His words run ragged with his breath and Ed can feel the other assassins soul eagerly trying to escape its ruined temple.

Reaching up he clasped Gin's hand trying to hold on...begging silently
"Please don't let go..."
Glazed sapphire eyes gaze into green eyes bright with sorrow, seeing Ed but looking at someone else.
"Are they not beautiful my love..."
A weak whisper mingling with tears.
"What is beautiful."
"Their wings..."
Gin's words linger twisting up into the heavens with his soul, leaving a certain quiet that only an ascending spirit can bring. Silence broken only by Ed's soft weeping, his own lament mixing with the songs of angels.
