A/N: This is just a short, simple prequel for Harry Potter. I hope you like it.

We are here on a single planet surrounded by billions upon billions of galaxies, trapped in a single, physical body. Limited as we are, the bravest of us refuse to give up in the face of fear. The few of us born with this determination, continue our race when we all fall. Harry James Potter is one of these few people. He was born into this world as a child of parents who would sacrifice all in their love to him. Love is the one power that above all rivals hate. Harry had parents who loved him very much but they were born in an era in which an evil man sought to rule over the world, and so they sacrificed their lives to save their child. This evil man was widely known in the wizarding world as Lord Voldemort. Voldemort, formerly know as Tom Marvolo Riddle, sought to kill all muggles and muggleborns, and he above all feared death, so one day when one of his most loyal followers*(or so he thought) overheard a prophecy that was between himself and almost certainly one of two boys, ( Neville Longbottom or Harry Potter), he set about a plan to kill these boys and their families, after splitting his soul six times*in a quest to not meet his endand carry out his goals. What he did not know, was that on the day he sought to overcome this so called prophecy, he would mark an equal. An equal that was prophesized to bring him to his end and did the very same day that he was marked. This equals name is Harry Potter.
When I said "one of his most loyal followers(or so he thought)" I mean Severus Snape.
*Old Moldy Shorts thought he only split his soul six times. Harry Potter was his unknown seventh horcrux.
*The Prophecy:
The one with thepower to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives... the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies...
