Plot Summary: History repeats itself in the women of the Cameron family. One that they love dies early, usually a tragic death, though once in a while he doesn't but they don't live so happily. This has happened so many times that it became a tradition that they have planned marriages. Hermione, a descendant of the Cameron family is there, to try and break the family curse which was put on them in the end of the Medieval Age… will she succeed? Or will it have to be tried to be broken again after another 100 years?

In My Own Time Prologue

"Thy face is mine, and thou has slandered it."

"Slandered it? How so? My face is mine and thou hast no ownership of me.'' She replied, "If mourning for he death of thy brother is slandering one's face. Then being betrothed to you is a betrothal to death and sorrow." Hermia stormed out, leaving her fiancé dumfounded.

"Hey, mum. Where are your parents in your wedding pictures? they did attend, right?"  Mrs. Granger hesitantly answered, "They didn't attend dear. They didn't approve of your father's…pedigree.''

" oh, mum. You okay? I shouldn't have asked, it hurts you too much – ''

Indeed the memory of her parent's reaction was saddening, though many think she has moved on, the memory the thought still hurts.

" Hermione, its okay. They don't like your father, though they knew that they couldn't control who I marry… they had some influence. So your father was a shock to them."

Summer of 1973…

"Miranda!" Elisabeth Cameron Scott called to her daughter, " I have some exciting news for you!''

" Oh, dear mum! What is it?" Miranda replied. Her mother exitedly answered, " as you know, it has been in the Cameron Family, a tradition." Miranda looked as if she expected the worse to come, "A tradition in which the parents choose who their daughters are to be betrothed to. It is soon time, time for you to marry. A week after your eighteenth birthday will suffice. You will be made a happy bride, for we, your father and I, have chosen a respectable husband. You will be introduced when you come back home for the winter holidays. Goodbye.'' Mrs. Scott left promptly, leaving Miranda to give her reply,

" But I am already in love, though I doubt it is he whom you are talking about. For in your eyes he is not respectable." To a closing door.
