She was pissed.

No, scratch that-she was furious.

Her novel. Her thirteenth chapter. Her precious thirteenth chapter of her precious novel. Gone.

Days worth of work wasted on that single chapter that was supposed to be the climax of her story: a lonely city girl, looking for a chance at love. She thought that that chapter was the best one so far, every word carefully chosen and woven into a heart melting chapter that would blow the readers mind. That one special chapter…

Gone.

Dissolved into a pile of ashes.

All because of one pink-haired, walking flamethrower.

"L-Lucy," Natsu stammered as he slowly backed away. "Let's talk about this."

"Talk?" Lucy's aura was a frightening dark purple that could've outmatched Zeref's. "Talk about what, Natsu?"

Natsu didn't know if he should answer or not. If he answered she might rip his head off. If he didn't answer, she might still rip his head off.

Time to make a decision.

"About me kinda-sorta-maybe putting your papers on fire…?"

Wrong decision.

"It wasn't just some piece of paper, Natsu," Lucy, impossibly, grabbed Natsu by the scarf and lifted him up an inch. "That was my thirteenth chapter!"

"W-what about it?" Natsu was genuinely scared. He's seen the most terrible sides of Lucy, especially whenever she found him in her house without permission; but never did he see her like this.

And all because of one chapter?

"That chapter contained the climax of the story! She was finally going to confess her feelings for him, Natsu!" Lucy shook Natsu with all her might. "After all the crap she's been through, she was finally going to be accepted. She was finally going to feel loved!"

Lucy let go of Natsu. Natsu stumbled but regained his balance just in time for Lucy to shoot him one of her most evil death glares.

"But now, it's all gone."

Natsu, clearly not comprehending why she was so worked up about some stupid chapter, tilted his head and asked, "Then why don't you just rewrite it?"

"It's not that simple, Natsu. Writing is something that everyone can do; but something only some can succeed at doing and making money from it. That chapter was special. That dang thirteenth chapter was perfect!"

Natsu still didn't understand. Lucy, seeing this, flailed her hands in the air like crazy.

"I can't just rewrite another chapter like that!"

"W-well, that's why I bought you cake," Natsu said, holding up a pink box marked CAKE. "It's for inspiration."

"Cake?" Lucy took the box out of Natsu's hands. Her face lit up at the thought of eating cake together with the other girls while they helped her rewrite her thirteenth chapter.

But when she opened it, she found nothing but crumbs.

Lucy turned to Natsu, a scowl on her face.

"Where's the cake?"

Natsu peered into the box, a confused expression plastered on his face. Then, as if something clicked in his mind, his eyes widened. He muttered something under his breath.

"What?" Lucy asked impatiently. Natsu refused to meet her eyes.

"I might've eaten it on the way here…," He, wisely, backed away from Lucy as her scowl turned into a death glare and the aura around her turned from elated to threatening.

"Natsu, come here, you little-"
