Disclaimer: Nope. Still not mine. Neither is "Find Me A Preacher." It's by Trace Adkins and I have absolutely no ties. But I did change a couple words. I changed, "Tennessee dirt" to "New York road." Hope you all won't hate me too much.

Author's Note: It's short and sweet. AU EO after El's divorce and pretend nothing has happened with Kathy that shows any promise to their marriage. Kay? Kay. Read and review my pretties!

She is sitting on the tailgate of my Ford F-150 swinging her bare legs and pedicured feet through the air and gazing beautiful brown eyes into my blue ones. Just watching my partner is stunning to me. It is the NYPD's Fourth of July party. We're having a hell of a lot of fun and I am captivated. Liv and I have been dating for about two months and it has been the best time of my life. But tonight tops them all. And I'm in love. I realized that when I picked her up.

It was five o'clock, ninety five degrees and she was smiling. When she pulled her apartment door open I was momentarily stunned into silence. Sure, my partner looks great in a slinky dress and heels. And better naked. But I never realized someone could look so damn hot in Daisy Duke cut offs and my old navy blue NYPD Academy t-shirt with my name in white block letters on the back. It was then I realized that no matter what she was wearing I would always think of her as the most beautiful woman in the universe.

So now I have to do the one thing I've wanted to do all night.

"Livia, I gotta talk to you."

Look at you sittin' on that tailgate

All bare foot, beautiful and brown eyed

Just watchin' you breathin's blowin' me away

All I can think about tonight...

Somebody find me a preacher

Somebody find me a man with a bible who can tie a knot

I know what I got

I know who I love

Track him down

Wake him up

Right here, right now in this New York road

No long white dress

No little white church

Just you in your cut off jeans and my old t-shirt

Somebody find me a preacher

I grab her hand and pull her to the front of the truck. I slide into the driver's side and pull her on my lap so that she is straddling me and her back is pressed up against the steering wheel. I kiss her neck and nuzzle it with my nose.

"I love you Liv."

"I love you too." She smiles that heart-stopping, 1000 watt smile at me and I swear my heart skips a beat.

"Liv, you're my partner, my best friend, my rock and my soulmate but...I'd like to make you something more." Her eyes narrow in question and I bite my lip. "Now, I know this is really soon and I don't have a ring or anything but Liv, will you marry me?"

Baby I can't wait another minute

With you on my lap and your back against the wheel

I aint' got no diamond here to give ya

But if this is how lovin' you feels...

Somebody find me a preacher

Somebody find me a man with a bible who can tie a knot

I know what I got

I know who I love

Track him down

Wake him up

Right here, right now in this New York dirt

No long white dress

No little white church

Just you in your cut off jeans and my old t-shirt

Somebody find me a preacher

"Yes Elliot! Yes, I'll marry you!" She grabs me into a drugging kiss and I've never felt as happy as I do right now.

I realize as I hold her tightly to me that how I feel now is how I always want her to feel and I'm going to do everything in my power to make her feel that way everyday for the rest of our lives.

I wanna spend the rest of my life

Makin' you feel the way I feel tonight

Somebody find...

Somebody find me a preacher

Somebody find me a man with a bible who can tie a knot

I know what I got

I know who I love

Track him down

Wake him up

Right here, right now in this New York road

No long white dress

No little white church

Just you in your cut off jeans and my old t-shirt

Somebody find me a preacher
