Growing up
Chapter one; Missing
Tommy Pickles was watching the entrance of the playpen, much the same way as usual these past few months. His best friend hadn't been by his home as much as he used to. He really missed his constant companionship, and worrying tone. That worry tone which only seemed to grow louder by the second while Tommy ended up in another dangerous situation yet again. A dangerous situation which Chuckie often underlined could have been avoided if they were just safe and sound, if they only played a nice harmless game altogether.
Now, day by day, it just didn't feel the same as it used to be..
When Chuckie did come over he spoke of situations of being around other kids, and what they got up to. Including new children he spoke to, and played with. Tommy felt a pull in his heart at those thoughts. He wanted to be there too, to see exactly what Chuckie faced day by day. To share in all the experiences as well..! However he was stuck in his home, living the same daily events with no change. With what seemed like there was no possible chance for anything to change.
Tommy often cried..
~O~O~O~O~O~O~
Stu and Didi just didn't know what was wrong with their son. They would pick their son up, and see if he was hungry, or if they needed to change his nappy. They would spend plenty of time playing with him too with various toys, and inventions that Stu had made down in the basement. But to no avail, once Tommy was back in his playpen, he would be reminded of his best friend. The waterworks would start up once more, leaving both parents to struggle with what was wrong with their son.
"What does Doctor Lipschitz say, Dee?" Stu asked his wife, who only shook her head as she looked through the many pages of the doctor's book.
"In my day we didn't have doctor 'whozitz' to turn to!" Grandpa Lou exclaimed, shaking his head in exasperation at the two of them.
"What did you do, pop?" Stu asked, looking over at him.
"We learnt to figure it out on our own!" He told him before moving over to the playpen, and lifting Tommy out. "Right, Scout?" He asked, cradling Tommy in his arms.
Unfortunately for Grandpa Lou, Tommy would pay attention for as long as he was held, but then cry his heart out the second he was on his own again.

"Come on, Tommy!" Phil exclaimed one afternoon.
"Yes, you still have us," Lil chimed in.
"I know," Tommy agreed. "But I miss Chuckie," he added honestly. He rolled the ball to Phil, who in turn rolled it to his sister.
"But now we get to go on all sorts of adventures, without Chuckie constantly putting a downer on it," Phil added, trying to make Tommy see a bright side to it all. "We can eat all the bugs outside!"
"Yes," Lil giggled. "The three of us can get up to all sorts, and not have to worry about it not being a good idea," Lil carried on.
"I suppose," Tommy spoke up as he looked at his two friends. He didn't sound as certain as the twins. What if they got into big trouble, which Chuckie would have stopped them before they got too far.
Tommy usually came up with the plans, but his heart just wasn't in it today. The three of them resumed throwing the ball between one another until Phil and Lil had to go home.
The twins were worried about Tommy, while they played the two had shot each other worried glances. He really did miss Chuckie, didn't he? As Phil and Lil were taken from the Pickles residence Tommy cried again, leaving his parents worried once more about what was wrong with their son.
