a/n: Well, I am back. And better, hopefully anyway. Snowing like crazy here. Seen the new harry potter with Gavin :) It was amazing :) Can't wait for the next part. Anyway, just a little Ron fic. He is one of my favourite characters and no one every does him enough justice. I am going to start putting up little one-shots, just so that I can say I have some complete stories on this site, and so that you guys have stuff to tide you over while I sluggishly try and get more chapters up on my other stuff. So here you are. Enjoy ..x..
Closing the Wounds ..x..
You could say life is pointless. What's it worth? What's the point?
Ron Weasley thought so. Always the spare tire. No one ever cared. All of his big brothers had achieved everything, leaving nothing for him.
He was always overshadowed. Best friends with Harry Potter, the boy who lived. Also best friends with the smartest witch of her age. Just the side kick. His younger sister, the only girl of his siblings, fawned over by everyone.
There was just no way he could compete with any of that.
He will never admit it, but Ron had always felt alone. He felt forgotten and uncared for. Unloved and without anyone, until he nearly died. Until his life was nearly stolen away from him.
It was at that moment that Hermione Granger threw herself at him, and in doing so, threw herself head first, into his turbulent, crazy life.
He was no longer the forgotten little brother. He was the one who had to grow up the quickest. Who had to be the strongest. Risk his life to save the rest of the wizarding world.
But Ron doesn't ever think about that. He thinks about how he fell in love with a bushy haired, smart arse, bossy bookworm. And for some, unknown reason, she loved him back.
The nights after the fall of Voldermort were the worst, but best of his life. Yes, guilt constantly hung over him for being happy, but he still cried. At night, when no one else could see him, except Hermione.
He couldn't sleep alone, Hermione had to be there. They found comfort in each other's arms, no nightmares, but happy, peaceful sleep.
Ron thanked Merlin every day for the family he had been blessed with. Now, months after the war, there was a strange feeling in the air. The panic and fear had gone a long time ago. Everyone had started healing. Slowly - and in a variety of odd ways - things were starting to get better.
