A/N: Replayed the Twilight Town part of KH II today, nostalgia ftw! Unfortunately, I played it with my brother, which means that everything was taken into a new kind of territory. And that I was not in a clean state of mind when Roxas chatted with Setzer. Oh my.

I apologize profusely for the crack and possibly OOC Setzer in advance, but leave a review if you're inclined, it's fun!

Idol

It is down to him and it is down to you.

"You two, play fair now," says the Struggle producer, handing you your play weapon, handing him his. "You're at the top of the bracket."

"There's only room for one up here," he says, smooth, suave, everything you almost wish you were.

"Well," says the producer with a cheery smile, "may the best man win!"

The cheering crowds, supporters for him and supporters for you, all of it's falling away.

It is down to him and it is down to you.

He overwhelms you and oh, you're hardly worthy of his presence.

He opens his scarred lips to speak.

"Throw the match for me," he tells you, "and I'll make it worth your while."

You start thinking a mile a minute. About just what he could do to make it worth your while.

You've heard stories about would-be champions who chose to bow instead, who disappeared under his royal cloak and into a new place entirely. He's mysterious and he could offer you everything and anything you could possibly ever want, anything you could ever possibly need. There was never a need for anything but Setzer, because when Setzer took you in, he became your world.

But in exchange you'd have to give up everything you love now, if you wished to serve your idol. If you went with him there's no knowing where you'd be a year from now. He would rip you down and build you anew, and you've started over enough already.

He's alluring and he's perfect, but you won't give up what you have now, not after a lifetime of bringing it close to you.

"Get real!" you snap, suddenly brave, suddenly rebellious.

He smiles, and your eyes flash because you already know that he's considered ten ways to break you.

"Whatever you think is right," he says, "you're wrong."

"And that," he smiles, his play sword pointed at your heart, an idol in front of your unworthy eyes, "is a big mistake."
