prologue
a child was born in december, on a tuesday. Mother pain long forgotten, father's worry gone. and for a moment in time, all was at peace for the new family as they rested in a tokyo hospital.
"What do we name her?" Kaname asked dreamily as she held her newborn daughter in her arms.
"Akiko?" Sosuke said, more a question.
"Akiko." she stated with a smile. she started into her daughters eyes, before the smile turned to a frown. "Promise me Sosuke," she said, "Promise me she wont grow up like i did."
"I Promise." he said as he looked at the calendar on the wall.
December 24th, 2002. his daughter had the same exact birthdate as her mother, right down to the minute.
the birth date of all whispered.
