AN: I'm not sure if this has been done, but its just a one shot that is based off of my personal head canon that makes everything that Moffat and Gatiss told the fans true, but also makes sure Jim survives.
"Jim, what are you doing?" Richard was surprised to find his brother in the doorway of his new flat. His hands casually in the pockets of his suit.
"What? Can't a man just visit his little brother?" Jim started walking towards Richard.
"No! You stay away from me!" Richard held out his right hand defensively and took a few steps back. "I did what you asked, you talked Tim into killing himself. What more could you want?"
Jim entered the room and waved his hand. "Tim? Tim was already suicidal. I just used it to my advantage."
"To play a game," Richard shouts. The consulting criminal shrugged.
"Now we can say we've outlived our brother," he said, proud.
"That's not something to be proud about."
Jim removed his hands from his pockets and spread his arms, palms faced out. "I just want to know why you've come out of hiding."
Richard could see through his brother's stance, but he replied anyway. "I want to continue acting."
There was a glint in Jim's eyes. His hands moved back into his pockets. "You know you can't do that."
"Why not? Even with that, that stunt you pulled with Holmes' sister will have been forgotten." Jim advanced slowly. Richard instinctively moved back. "Look, I'll use a different stage name. I was thinking Richard Scott or something." Richard continued to blabber. "I promise no one will recognize me as Richard Brook!" Richard felt his legs hit his dining table.
"We had a promise," Jim growled.
"You promised I Sherlock wouldn't touch me," Richard snapped in a sudden moment of bravery.
"AND YOU PROMISED ME YOU WOULDN'T COME OUT OF HIDING!"
Suddenly, an old woman peaked her head in the doorway. "Richard, could you keep it down? Betty's trying to sleep."
Richard shifted so that he could see past his brother's shoulder. "Yes, Mrs. Grant."
Jim stepped back. Richard stopped leaning on the table and could finally stand straight again, but the grin on Jim's face mad Richard feeling terrified. "Who was that," Jim asked.
"My neighbor," Richard replied. "No, I know that look. You will not touch her."
"And Betty?"
Richard felt his blood boil at the mention of Mrs. Grant's granddaughter. "Don't touch Betty either," he said through gritted teeth.
"Well then, this seems like a rather good time to be off." Jim walked towards the exit. "If you don't want your neighbors getting hurt, I would suggest that you stay in hiding." Jim left the flat and closed the door behind him. Richard Brook nee Moriarty stood in his new flat alone and scared.
AN: I also wanted Richard Brook to still be alive to because if he was a real character he would be an absolute cinnamon roll! If you don't get it, they're triplets. This is meant to be a one shot but if enough people want I could continue it. I just need to finish my other story first, which I will get to eventually. Sorry if you hoping for another chapter in the Glans Building. I promise you I will get to it. Also, could someone tell me about when moriarty's scene in the final problem was. it said five years ago, but I'm super confused if time in Sherlock is the same as normal time. It makes sense that it would be after season 2 because that would explain why moriarty never mentioned Redbeard to Sherlock. Idk
