Disclaimer: Hiro Hamada and Big Hero 6 belong to The Walt Disney Company. Dilbert and his co-workers belong to United Media. I merely combined the two.
It was 8:50 AM, and Dilbert was on his way to a 9 AM meeting. He was walking fast even though he had plenty of time, because he always liked to be five minutes early to everything if possible. Today's meeting would be the typical stand-up meeting he was used to, but the meeting would begin with an introduction to a new employee.
Dilbert entered the meeting room and took his seat, with Alice on his left and Wally on his right. Dilbert asked, "Do either of you know anything about this new person?"
"He's a man," answered Alice. "What a surprise."
"I hope he does more work so I can do less," replied Wally.
The pointy-haired boss introduced himself, and then said, "Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to introduce you to the newest member of our team, Hiro Hamada. His job title is Ultra-Rapid 3-D Prototyper."
"You made that job title up on the fly," Dilbert complained. "We already have several 3-D prototype artists. Why does he deserve a special job title?"
"Allow me to show you," Hiro responded. A swarm of microscopic robots landed at the front of the meeting table, forming a black cube 12 inches high, wide, and deep. Everyone in the meeting room was completely and utterly awestruck.
"Using his swarm of microbots, he can form any shape he can imagine or you can describe, in any and all colors of the visual spectrum, as long as it is no bigger than 18 inches by 18 inches by 18 inches. And as you can see, he can do so dozens, if not hundreds, of times faster than any 3-D printer. Now I will allow you to ask Hiro to make what you would like to see."
"Give the cube a rainbow pattern!" Asok exclaimed.
Hiro made the color change in half a second.
"Make the Egyptian pyramids!" Wally ordered.
Hiro produced three pyramids in three seconds.
"I want to see a brand-new yellow Lamborghini Ursus!" Ted shouted.
Hiro synthesized Lamborghini's new SUV in jaw-dropping detail in 2.8 seconds.
"This is most amazing thing I have ever seen!" Loud Howard yelled, causing Hiro's microbots to disengage and collapse into thousands of tiny particles.
Everyone stared at Loud Howard with death glares.
"That can be fixed easily," Hiro said in a reassuring tone, reassembling the Lamborghini Ursus.
Hiro continued to take request after request, until the clock reached 6:00 PM. That's how enthralled everyone was by Hiro's color-shifting microbots. Not only was no useful work accomplished that day, but everyone forgot to eat lunch that day as well, including Hiro and the pointy-haired boss.
"Well, I guess we can all skip tomorrow's stand-up meeting," said the pointy-haired boss. "See you all tomorrow."
"That was the longest meeting I have ever been to," Alice remarked. "But it was also the best."
