Hello all my dearest friends and readers! I was looking through all my old files and I found this piece! I hope you enjoy it
Disclaimer: I own nothing related to Twilight Princess…
Sleepless Protector
The wolf sat silently as he stared at the bedroom door. One might call this weird, but for her it was completely normal.
With everything at peace once again, she believed that the wolf would return to his previous life as a mere human rancher, but the look in his eyes told her that he wanted to always be by her side to make sure she will always be safe from any danger that he was sure to eventually come to get her or him.
Maybe the both of them…
With only his soft, quick breathing being the only noise in the room, the Princess was able to sleep soundly knowing she was still being protected, but at the same time, she was uneasy because she wanted the wolf to sleep as well.
As a man, he would train the knights from morning until afternoon, then he would train by himself until night.
Sometimes he wouldn't eat at all…
She would bring him water and a variety of fruits, but while the water was usually gone, the fruit was barely touched.
Every time the Princess would try to get him to relax, he would simply tell her that he had no time to relax and must train.
As a wolf, he would either sit outside her door or inside her room and just look and sniff around making sure the only scents in that room were theirs and theirs alone.
She was glad to have a protector in both the forms of a wolf and a man, but tonight she had enough.
As if working on instinct, the Princess slowly sat up and turned to the wolf.
"Please my beloved wolf, come to bed with me; you must sleep if you wish to keep up your strength. It would really mean a lot if you relaxed for once." She pleaded to him.
The wolf looked at her, but instead of listening, he lies on his stomach and continues to stare at the door.
With an inward sigh, the Princess knew she had to come up with an alternative of some kind.
A few moments later, it came to her…
Sliding out of bed, she pulls the covers off and wraps one of them around the wolf and the other one around herself.
"If you won't lie with me, then let me lie with you." The Princess whispered as she rested her head on the wolf's left side.
"As long as I can still protect you." The wolf thought as he looked at the sleeping princess.
I hope you enjoyed it!
