The man he'd been sent to kill this time seemed to be like the others, an ordinary man whose very existence seemed to offend his employer. He had already planned how he'd get rid of the man. He'd just perform how he usually does. In the end, to him, they we're all just useless insects anyway.
It took only a slpit second and the assassin was behind the man in a flash, a katana already on the man's neck, threatening to slice it off any second.
"Today's your lucky day." And with a slight chuckle, the man was quickly decapitated.
The assassin looked down at the corpse and smiled. After all of this, years and years of worthless suffering, the assassin had now completely gone insane. But who could blame him? The village didn't want him. His parent's didn't want him. All he was, was a tool. Someone who ruthlessly killed just for the sake of living. A man who had already decapitated many just because of the bounty they held.
But no, it was not the money he needed. It was the thrill. The feeling of the adrenaline rushing through his entire body. It was like a drug to him. He needed it. He craved it. Without it, he would be nothing.
The assassin jumped through the window of his employers office, and threw a brown cotton bag stained red with blood onto his table. The bag contained the dead man's head. It was a simple procedure he'd followed after every kill. "Mission complete." Is all he said before getting ready to jump out of the window again to complete his next mission but, he was stopped.
"Kitsune." He froze in place, gripping onto the window frame. He turned around, two red eyes looking down at him through his black fox mask. "Hn?"
"Will you ever show me who you are?" he stood up to face the masked assassin.
"Why do you ask?"
The man actually had no clue who this so called 'Kitsune' was. All he and everyone else in the organisation knew was that a little more than three years ago, a strange masked man had approached them asking for a job. After thoroughly interrogating and testing him, they'd eventually employed him as an assassin. A man dressed in all black, his skill level unknown but extremely high, who hardly ever talked.
"I'm pretty sure you're aware of this but, it's very hard to trust someone who we don't even know."
"I am Kitsune. That's all you need to know."
At this point, aside from all those in the organisation, only certain people were aware that the rumoured 'Kitsune, the fox assassin' was actually real. That would be the current Hokage's along with a few higher ranking shinobi such as, advisors, certain jonin and maybe one or two chunin and genin in each of the villages.
The man was now getting restless. "Why won't you reveal yourself? Even if it's just to me."
"I have a lot that is burdening me right now. I wouldn't want to drag you into my problems." The fox assassin walked to the front of the man's desk.
"That's not a good enough reason. You and I both know that I am a very skilled shinobi and I could help with whatever your problem is."
"Would you be able to cure insanity?" Kitsune tilted his head to the left.
The man looked at him, confused.
Kitsune chuckled. "Thought so." And with that, he was gone.
