Chapter 1: A Not-So-Normal Day

Jack and D were talking about football. Lucy and Sue were signing about their plans for after work. Myles and Bobby were in Montana on an assignment. It seemed like a normal day. Just then, Stanley and Tara rushed in, Tara wide-eyed. "Guys, we've got a new case."

All of them looked up. Stanley continued, "We cracked a code revealing that there is a terror attack planned. We don't know when or where, but the way they are describing it, it sounds like it will be remarkably similar to 9/11."

Sue looked at Lucy. "Please tell me I read his lips wrong."

Lucy signed,Since you're asking that, then no, you read them right.

"That's what I was afraid of."

Jack turned to Stanley and Tara. "Since you don't know when or where, then how do you know that it's similar to 9/11?"

"They're going to hijack planes and fly them into somewhere sometime. Those are the parts we don't know." Tara said.

"Well, let's get to work!" D said, and that's what they did.

Meanwhile, Myles and Bobby were on a plane flying home. There were two Middle-Eastern men sitting rather close to the cockpit in different rows, trying to look inconspicuous. Bobby got Myles's attention and pointed at the two nervous-looking men. "Whaddya make of that?"

"Hmm. We should probably keep an eye on them."

"Yeah, that's what I was thinking."

"We think they're planning to strike at several different times. That way they believe they can throw us off." Stanley explained.

"They might even start striking today, but that's highly unlikely." Tara said.

After an hour or two, they noticed the men both get up and start moving toward the cockpit. Bobby looked at Myles, and Myles looked at Bobby. As they did, the men pulled out knives that had somehow made it past security and screamed, "Allah akbar!" They stormed the cockpit, or tried to, but Myles and Bobby jumped up and grabbed them, tackling them. "That was close." Bobby stated.

They were suddenly aware that everyone on board was staring at them. "It's OK, everyone. We're FBI." Myles said.

As they were still getting briefed about their newest case, Lucy's phone rang. She went to answer it. "Guys, that was Metro P.D. They discovered a landscape business that had been ransacked, and all the fertilizer was taken. The owner was also shot. He's in the hospital but is not expected to live."

"Which means that now the terrorists have the ingredients to make simple bombs." Jack said.

"That's not all. Sue, the owner was David."
