It was a warm, lazy summer afternoon. The kind where the breeze was warm, and time seemed to go slower. Vanessa Flare put her hands in the air , and felt her midriff top rise even higher, and felt the warm wind slide over her arms and body. As she walked her shorts hitched up even higher as well, she got a few looks from people but she put one red high-heeled foot in front of the other and made her way down the main road. Eventually she got to a small dirt path in the middle of two buildings. She turned into and started walking to the other road that waited at the end.
Just as she reached the middle of the lane, a group of boys with hooded jumpers and jeans walked in.
"Well, well, well. What do we have here." murmured the tallest one.
Vanessa Flare continued to walk towards the street, walking into the group of boys.
Just as she past the last boy, he grabbed her arm and shoved her back into the group.
"Where do you think you're going, little pretty." he growled.
She looked at him and tried to walk past again. But he did the same thing.
"Dont even think about leaving us." the tall boy said.
"I think, you should just let me pass. And save yourself the trouble." said Vanessa, her patience running low.
This caused the group to chuckle.
"Ha, and what trouble could you bring? You're just a little girl." the tall one said again.
Vanessa rolled her eyes and then closed them. A moment later they opened and there were blinding white orbs where her eyes once were. She turned around the light get brighter, blinding the boys causing them to stagger. As the boys stumbled around, Flare's black, manicured nails began to melt and drip. It was black and solid, but like shadows.
Vanessa snapped open her palms and small black barbs struck at the boys, cutting them in various places, tearing muscles and puncturing lungs. One of them, the tall one was able to see by now and he ran towards the end of the lane, he almost made it, but not before the black shadows wrapped around his waist and flung him back, landing at Vanessa's feet.
"I told you to just let me pass, you could have saved youself the pain." she whispered to him, before a shadow flashed across his throat, and she stepped over his dead corpse and onto the road.

Vanessa tied her dead, black hair into a ponytail and wiped the make-up off her face. SHe pulled on a pair of tight black pants and a grey jumper. She smiled as she ate dinner and watched the news of an attack, a murder. The one she did. After she finished dinner she thanked the dead body, the owner of the house, and stepped outside locking the large mansion doors behind her.
Vanessa opened the garage door to see what lovely trinkets this man had, and was shocked to see the 1954 Bentley R-type Continental and the skeleton in a suit that leaned against it.
Flare's mouth twisted into a sneer, but she quickly turned to run. And that's what she did. Flare ran but suddenly realized the skeleton detective wasn't chasing her. But why? Then all of a sudden Flare felt something hit her head and she fell to the ground. As she fell a blurry female figure, clad in black stepped into her vision.
