Lysander held the bouquet of wild Thimbleroses with one hand, his other scratching various parts of his body. The Thimbleroses were beautiful, alright. He was glad he trusted his twin Lorcan on this one. He just can't be bothered with stupid itches at this time- he's late for a date! He checked his wristwatch and cursed himself for being tardy at a first date. He pushed the Three Broomsticks' door open, the warm atmosphere greeting him. His eyes scanned the room, searching for a certain brunette.
He spotted her by the corner, alone and waiting for him. He scratched his skin for the last time, running his fingers on his hair before walking over to her with a charming smile. "Hi."
Alice Longbottom II looked up as someone spoke before her, "Hello, Lysander." she smiled shyly, "I'm glad you came." she said.
"Yeah," he scratched the back of his neck, not of shyness, but of pure itchiness. "I'm sorry I came in late." he gave her a sheepish smile.
"It's alright! I came in later than the designated time myself." she chuckled.
"You look amazing as always, Alice." he complimented her, now scratching the back of his hand. "Beautiful flowers for a beautiful lady." he heldout the gorgeous bouquet in front of him.
Alice felt heat rushing through her cheeks, "Thank you." She reached out to grab the bouquet when she noticed several angry red patches on his skin. "Lys, are you alright? You have scratch marks all over your body.." Alice reached her hand towards his arm, running her fingers over the angry patches.
If this were a normal situation without him having red patches, he would have felt butterflies overcoming his stomach. "Y-Yeah, I think so.. " he mumbled hesitantly, scratching his knee now.
"No, Lys, you don't look okay.. The red patches are swelling and heating up.." Alice frowned, pressing on his skin, "Do you have an allergy or something?"
"I-I don't think so..?" Lysander uncertainly said. He didn't really remember anything he was allergic to..
Alice's eyes widened as green pus started forming in the red patches on his skin. "Lysander, we have to go to the Hospital Wing, now!" she tugged his hand out of the pub, dragging him back towards the castle. She held his hand tight as the wade through the maze of Halls and a dozen staircases until they reached the Hospital Wing.
"M-Madam Pomfrey, I don't know wh-what's happening to him!" Alice said in a panicked voice, ushering a scratching Lysander towards an empty bed, her other hand holding the Thimbleroses he had given her.
"Oh, dear! What has happened to yo- Thimbleroses?!" Madam Pomfrey shrieked, Accio-ing the bouquet from Alice's hand. "These are poisonous!"
"P-Poisonous?" Lysander stuttered whilst restraining his hands from scratching himself.
"Alice Longbottom, you of all people should know that! Your father is the Herbology Professor!" The respected Healer lectured the two.
Alice now felt the urge to scratch her skin, too. "I- Er, well." she just smiled at her sheepishly.
"Don't you even dare scratch your skin, young lady!"
"Alice?"
"Hmm?"
"I'm sorry."
"For what?"
"The disastrous date."
"No, don't be. I had fun." Alice giggled on the bed beside his.
"You enjoyed watching me embarrass myself in front of you?" Lysander scoffed.
"We're in the same state, Lysander." she rolled her eyes playfully.
"Oh, you're right." Both of them were now like mummies, their whole bodies covered in bandages to avoid them scratching their skin.
"It was a nice first date."
