Naruto was in a sewer, his mindscape. He had been dragged there form the bridge he was fighting on, going on instinct at this point. He couldn't let Haku die, and he couldn't let anyone die. As he stood in front of a giant cage, he saw something come out. It looked vaguely human, almost like a giant, one made of light. It's body glowed white, everywhere except for the center of it's chest. There, it instead glowed a deep red.
In the outside world, Naruto's body was no longer under his control. It dashed between Kakashi and Haku within seconds, and raised a barrier. The barrier was octagonal, and glowed orange. Kakashi couldn't stop himself, he was moving to fast, and he rammed his lightning covered hand into the barrier. It held. The barrier held against one of the most powerful lightning release attacks, lightning, the element known for it's piercing ability.
Suddenly, Naruto's stomach bulged for a few seconds before flattening again. When it flattened, through the jumpsuit, there was a red glow. Suddenly, he began to grow. At two meters, he stopped growing. He was glowing a bright white. Suddenly, he turned to where Gato and his mercenaries were now standing. He looked, and raised a single hand.
There were no survivors.
Naruto was terrified at the sight of this figure. It couldn't be the Kyuubi, it didn't have any tails; so what the hell was this thing. It looked in his direction. As it looked at him, he felt a new form of terror, one that he had heard described by some ninja. It was as if he was faced with God, judging him; like appearing next to a mountain, it filled him with awe. This was the fear of God, terror at what his next life may hold for him.
Three Years Later
Konoha
Pain had destroyed the village, pinned Naruto to the ground, and killed hundreds. His worst offense, however, was not listening to Kakashi.
"Pain," he said, "whatever you do, don't make him angry, especially not by killing his friends."
Just now, he had stabbed Hinata.
The spikes in him shot out of the ground, and Naruto stood. He began growing, and growing, and growing. As he was growing, he began to glow white. Eventually, he stood, hundreds of meters tall, and roared.
The roar shook the ground for miles. As he stepped, he destroyed ancient trees that had survived millenia. foe everyone else, it was as if a mountain had appeared in front of them.
For Pain, he knew by this time, that he was not God, he was not even close. This thing, however, was far closer. He turned and fled.
After a minute, there was an explosion. Greater than the greatest weapons mankind will ever create, it changed the planet. The land shifted, seas rose, weather changed in an instant. Everything within a hundred miles, Pain, Konan, Konoha, all of them died... Except for one.
Fifteen Years Later.
A man with long, dark hair was standing behind a man in front of a screen.
"It's been fifteen years, hasn't it, Danzo?"
"That it has, Itachi," said Danzo, "The angels are back."
