Oh dear boy of might,
You gave me hope through the night,
Past the sea of people running,
I saw you simply humming,
And then you turned and faced my way,
I wished it were another day,
That day you first laid eyes on me
The years went by through a daze,
And I felt as if in a craze,
My mask was well worn,
And I was simply torn
The people who dared once said were friends,
Were never ever seen again,
And lost I truly felt,
Alone without help
Then more banter came to me,
Laughs and games were how they came,
A circle formed all around me,
From people who barely knew me,
I felt the stabs of pain and grief,
Of invective and lies,
That is what they thought of me,
A loser through all time
And then I saw you through the crowd,
I'll never forget your look that day,
As if you were the one in the center,
And through the laughs and through my tears,
You parted through the mob,
Your fury you made plain
A hand you gave to me,
Of aid and alliance,
We became one that day,
So now when people look,
They see us both together,
And whispers begin to seep
I don't care anymore because I know he's there,
The boy who broke through the crowd in such determined air,
The boy I love forever and a day,
The one who truly knew me,
A hero through the way.
