The Dead Girl
By Misha

Disclaimer- I don't own anything to do with "Veronica Mars", I really wish I did, but I don't. It belongs to Rob Thomas and the UPN. I'm not making any money off of this, so please don't sue me.

Authorís Notes- This is short and odd. Itís just a bizarre little Lilly piece, thereís no real point to it. Sorry. It just sort of popped into my head, so here it is. Thatís all, enjoy.

Summery- It was no fun being the dead girl.

Spoilers- The whole first season.

Rating- PG

It was no fun being the dead girl.

It hadn't always been so bad.

Of course, being dead was never Lilly's first choice, but for a while there she had an okay thing going. She was a National tragedy and everyone had mourned her.

She'd also had fun popping in on the people she loved, in dreams and visions. Duncan and Veronica were the easiest targets for such things. Donut just assumed he was hallucinating anyway, where as Veronica was so focused on solving her murder, she'd take any help she could get--even if it was from a 'ghost'.

Logan wasnít too receptive, he tried pretty hard to block her out, but she managed a visit or two.

Lilly would have preferred to be alive, but if she had to be dead, well then she'd make the best of it.

Then suddenly things changed. Veronica solved her murder and suddenly life as a dead girl wasn't as much fun.

Public opinion wasn't really on her side, she went from being tragic victim to being thought of as a slut.

More than that, people started to move on without her. Suddenly, they weren't as open to her visits and they didn't think about her as often.

Which, by the way, was totally unacceptable. She was supposed to be unforgettable, so how dare they forget about her.

But, it happened anyway. Life went on without her. People moved on with their lives and she was put into the past.

Veronica got a new best friend and while LIlly didnít actually mind Wallace, she thought he was what Veronica needed, she was a little resentful that he was taking her place.

Though, not nearly as resentful as she was at Veronica taking her place in Loganís life. Her boyfriend was not supposed to fall in love with her best friend. Yet, he did and there was this whole juicy triangle that had nothing to do with her.

Boys were supposed to fight over her, not Veronica. Except, of course, one of the boys in question was her brother and that would be a little disgusting.

But still. This was not supposed to be happening.

But what could she do about it?

She was dead. That was all she was anymore, the dead girl and it really sucked.
