"Owen, Gwen, circle around back," Jack ordered.
The chase of this latest creature from the rift had led them through the forest for hours, but now they could hear it just ahead. Suddenly the creature burst out of the bushes, charging past Jack and Ianto and knocking them down.
Jack hauled Ianto to his feet and they stared at the creature before them. Nostrils flared and eyes wild, it tossed its head and sent its long mane flowing around the horn protruding from its forehead.
"Damn," Jack whispered, "The rift really does send everything through."
The unicorn snorted in agreement.
