AN: I wrote Sora/Kairi. What was I on when I wrote this? I don't even ship Sora/Kairi. Oh well. It fitted the prompt - number 33 - "why do you have to go?"
"Sora, why do you have to go?" Sora turned, keyblade in hand in case of attack. The voice, though, belonged to Kairi. With a sigh, he banished the keyblade and sat down, leaning against the hidden door in the secret place.
"Someone has to rid the world of the Heartless, Kairi, you know that. I'm the so-called Keyblade Master, so it's my responsibility."
"You've spent most of your life fighting them. Why can't you at least accept some help?"
"You don't know how much I appreciate the offer, Kairi, but it's dangerous."
She sat down in front of him, a determined look on her face. "That's precisely why I want to go with you. I know it's dangerous, and I know you might not come back. I don't want to sit here waiting for a day that may never come – I want to be there with you."
"Kai, darling…"
"It was bad enough the last two times you went off and left me here alone, Sora. Don't think you can get away with it again."
She reached out a hand to him, but before he could take it, a shimmering keyblade appeared.
"That's definitely not one of mine. Take it, Kairi. It's chosen you."
She grasped the handle, and knew that she was making the right decision. "I'm coming with you."
Leaning forwards, she brushed her lips against his. He pulled her close, deepening the kiss.
"It was torture, knowing I was leaving you. Even that first time, before we were old enough to know what our feelings meant."
"I'm never leaving you again." Keyblades at the ready, they walked through the door together.
AN: For a pairing I never thought I'd write, I don't think it's too bad. Oh well. What do you think?
