Those Doubtful Moments

Jared/Kim • and she knows that what they have is real and not just some figment of her overly imaginative mind.

This is not my first Fanfiction. However, it is my first Twilight Fanfiction about Jared and Kim, obviously, because they're my current obsession. Because I am not good with chapter fics, though I am trying to write one, I mainly write one-shots or drabbles, and I hope that this is the first of many.

As always, to Kash. You inspire me, darling.

It seems so perfect, so wonderful and full of joy, the relationship that they share. There's no lies, no secrets, no regrets, it's all marvellous and faultless and blissful. She happy, she truly is, because she can't not be happy when the most beautiful boy in the entire world is standing by her side, holding her hand, and placing all of his attention on her.

It's hard not to be happy when he's so honest and so caring and so kind. It's hard not to be happy when he places those kisses on top of her head and whispers sweet nothings in her ear. She has to be happy, she has to show her happiness, because it's not everyday that a beautiful boy takes notice of a girl that's usually over looked.

On the inside she doubts herself because she's Kim and he's Jared and as much as she thinks they're perfect and incredible together, the others don't see it. She tries to ignore the whispers of the girls and the taunts of the boys, because she knows that he's her soul mate, they were made for each other after all, and he wants her more than anything else in the entire world. She knows that she's his sun and moon, that she keeps him grounded on this earth, that she's his gravity and he couldn't survive without her.

She has a hard time believing it as she walks down the corridors without him when he has to go quickly, only leaving her with a kiss and a whisper. She has a hard time believing that's it's all completely real, and not some sick game that her minds playing on her, once he's gone from sight and he's not there to walk her to her next class with his arm draped across her shoulders.

But when he's gone there's always somebody there by her side to remind her that it may not all be a wonderful dream after all. Sometimes it's Paul, draping his arm across her shoulders like Jared does as he teases her about her boyfriend; or Embry, with his hands in his pockets and a small smile on his face that makes her feel safe; or Quil with his jokes and laughter that make her feel so at ease; and even Jacob sometimes, who finds the time to talk to her about his issues and ask her for advice.

And then he comes back and the other boys scatter and he takes her into his arms and asks her how her few hours without him went. She smiles hesitantly back at him, like she always does, and squeezes him tightly back without saying a word. She doesn't tell him that she misses him when he's gone, or that she sometimes doubts that it's all completely real because she knows that Jared can sense those things in her without her even having to mutter a word.

He kisses her with as much passion as he holds and whispers, "I love you."

It's those words and that moment that always confirm that he's real, that's she's his and he's hers, and they're bound together forever with their love. The doubt runs from her mind, the certainty comes back to her heart, and she knows that what they have is real and not just some figment of her overly imaginative mind.

She's Kim and he's Jared and he's always there. Whether it's in person or in the form of his protective friends, he's always there, always looking out for her and trying to keep the doubt from her mind.
