Leah was pacing along the river, stopping every now and then to look at the house. It was easy to tell when she was looking for her brother and when she was looking for me. She alternated between anxious glance and murderous glares. (Breaking Dawn, pg. 455)

I growled under my breath. I was tired of Leah being mean to me.

Edward placed his hand on my shoulder but I shrugged it off. Why did everyone think I couldn't control myself.

Leah stared at me, black eyes glinting. As if waiting for me to attack. She knew I wouldn't.

I snarled at the window. I could her Carlisle and Esme flitting down the stairs. Rosalie and Jacob had stop bickering and came inside. Emmett, Alice, and Jasper had gone hunting and Seth was still snoring on the couch.

Leah smirked at me. That was the last straw. Everything tinted red. I smashed the window and tackled Leah.

"I'm sick of you making me feel like crap."

I grabbed Leah by the neck and tossed her into the river. She climbed out of the water and charged at me. Leah sank her sharp teeth into my arm. I knew the wolves had learned too much in that fight with the newborns last year.

I shrieked in pain.

I hadn't noticed that everyone was watching through the broken window in complete shock. Jacob phased and rushed to pull Leah off of me.

I lifted up Jacob and threw him across the river and into a Sitka spruce.

"I've had enough. I'm gonna kill you once and for all." I snarled at Leah, between clenched teeth.

I could see the fear in her eyes. I felt something grab my arms and pull them behind my back. I swiveled my head around. Edward had grabbed my arms.

"Let me go!" I screeched. Any other time I would've snapped out of my defense crouch and apologize. But today was different.

"Bella, you need to calm down. Renesmee is afraid and you're not setting a good example.

I watched Jacob limp back to Renesmee.

I flipped so my feet were against Edward's chest and kicked forward. Edward flew back. Luckily, Emmett had caught him, my vision still hazed with red. I registered that Emmett, Alice, and Jasper were back.

My mind screamed for the madness to stop, but my body wouldn't listen. My vampiric instincts had taken over.

I could hear Jasper whispering behind me.

"I thought Bella was different from other newborns. I guess I was wrong."

I wanted to shout that I was different from the average newborn.

"Momma," I turned and saw Renesmee climb agilely from Jacob's back. She slowly walked towards me. Jake let out a small whimper, telling -signaling- Renesmee it wasn't safe. He was trying to protect her from me. Her own mother.

Edward was right. I wasn't setting a good example. I was a terrible mother and I shouldn't even be allowed to see my own daughter. I'm a pathetic mother and a pathet ic vampire. I might as well go to the Volturi-

"Momma, are you okay?"

I snapped out of my reverie.

"Yes, Renesmee. I'm fine. I just lost my control for a moment." I replied, finally.

"Momma!" Renesmee ran up to me and gave me a tight hug around my legs. I picked her up.

"I'm glad you're okay, Momma. I didn't want anybody to get hurt."

When she said that I collapsed and started dry-sobbing.

"I'm so sorry you had to see that, baby. I will never lose my control like that again."

Renesmee touched my cheek. Images flashed before my eyes. She saw me tackle Leah and throw her into the river. She saw Leah bite my arm. And she saw Jacob get flung into a Sitka spruce. She'd seen me kick Edward. Then, she saw my eyes red with bloodlust. I cringed away from the sight.

I heard groans coming from inside the house. Seth ambled out of the window, not even acknowledging the broken glass. He yawned.

"Sorry, must've dozed off. Did I miss anything?"
