The Savages
If only the pounding of my head would stop. I was sure that I had never been under this amount of stress. I didn't know if I would even be able to make it through alive. I knew that if I did anything wrong, I would face dire consequences.
The savages danced around me, trapping me in a corner, and bearing on their dirty faces the most evil of grins. I did not know what they planned for me, but I was pretty sure that I would not like it. They started jumping up and down, their grins, if possible, getting even wider.
They pulled me away from the wall, nearly dragging me to my knees by sheer force of numbers. Some went behind me and starting pushing me forwards toward my inevitable doom.
I hoped that I would survive until nightfall where I might be able to make my escape in the dead of the night with only the moon to guide my way. Hopefully they would fall asleep soon.
I looked up ahead, and saw where I was headed. I noticed, in some surprise, a bunch of foodstuffs sitting jumbled together. They pointed at them, rubbing their bellies to show that they were hungry. They danced around me, demanding to be fed. I sighed with relief. This was infinitely better than the awful things that I had imagined. I went over to the food and sifted through the many items. I thought for a moment and then started cooking. All the time, they danced around in excitement.
I finished cooking and laid the meal in front of them, watching them stuff their faces after fighting each other to be the first one to eat. I looked at them filling their faces, watching in dismay as it disappeared faster than I could blink.
I knew that it was going to be difficult to get away from this rabble, who would surely do everything they could to keep me here. I decided to get away tonight, knowing that if I didn't, I would never get away.
They finished up their meals, licking their hands delightedly to get the last remnants of the food off. They came back over to me, pushing me back to where I had been before. When we got back after a few minutes, as I had been shrinking back from those disgusting hands as much as I could, they fell asleep without even posting a guard.
I sat down, feeling relief when their parents finally came home. I reported back to the missions room and hoped that I would never have to baby-sit again!
The End
