This is something that has been lurking in my mind for a long time now. It's taken me a while to write it and also name it. I love the idea of Vexen being psycho and surviving. This chapter is short and it's because it's a prologue.

This chapter is set in his Somebody's life.

Prologue: State of Mind

Ma'am there's no cure for what he has... we... we don't even have a name for this yet! Young boys should not be so... twisted.

But what did they know? I'm just as sane as the rest of them. They don't know the... things I know. I've seen what they really look like. Oh yes, I've seen what they try to hide. A small giggle escaped a small boy, a twisted grin taking form on his pale face. All the adults looked to him as he held out his hands in front of him. His palms spread out as if to receive something. It's too hot for it to be snow but.... In the air above his hands a ball of ice started to form, spiking out in odd directions. What a lovely thing it was. They don't understand.

God damn it Even, stop this! The first strike hit his hands before the next got his face. His face twisted in anger as the... vile woman touching him continued to beat him and the others stood back and watched, approving smiles on their faces. A snarl emerged from his throat and he placed his hand flat against her stomach. She reached down to grab his arm and stopped, jerking as she fell sideways and away, a sharp spear of ice imbedded in her middle. Vexen grinned at the sight and licked blood from his fingers.

Oh God, someone get him into a straight jacket and get her to a doctor! Step on it! Even's head snapped up and his hair fanned out around him, lengthening in a shad of what could only be called ice blue. His green eyes grew wide with his twisted form of joy at their fearful stares. A large man came up from behind, grabbing him and lifting him. A small cackle escaped the youth at that.

How absolutely pathetic! These people don't know what they're messing with! He looked up at the man who caught him and smiled cutely, letting cold seep out of his body and onto his arms. The man started shaking and looked down, seeing the suddenly twisted visage of the twelve year old. Ice encased his arms and he started chattering his teeth. With a small giggle, Even pushed away from the man, outright cackling when the ice shattered and the man started screaming because his arms were reduced to stubs. Even ran over to the window, throwing it open and giggling when he turned back to them.

Get him! Don't let him escape! Even looked back at them, two-toned hair flying around him viciously. He giggled and turned around fully, a smile on his face as he waved to the employees before stepping out, falling backwards and down towards the cement. People looked up with shouts of fear and ran wildly, getting away from the place they thought he would crash. He twisted, turning to face the ground before beginning a forward spin. He landed gracefully, hair falling to curtain around his face. People started to clap, amazed at what happened and he smiled cutely, bowing before looking around. He decided to go left, skipping somewhat as he walked, happy that he was finally free.

I think I want to go to Hollow Bastion! I heard there's scientists there! A small giggle escaped his lips as he walked along, headed towards the nearest Gummi Ship Taxi area. Such fun!
