Summary: Alice had no idea her Valentine's Day would end in heartbreak. Based on Average Girl by Emily Osment. Nyo!England

When they had met, Alice had fallen for Antonio. His charm. His accent. The amount of caring he showed everyone. It had been the worst thing she could've ever done. She was shy. Almost as shy as her best male friend, Matthew. So, upon Alfred's assistance she had written the Spaniard a love letter. And they had gone out ever since he found out she had sent it to him.

February 14th. Valentine's Day. He was supposed to make her feel special. Chocolate & flowers & the like. They had even made plans for breakfast at a local diner. One Alice favourited, in fact. She had squirmed in her seat, having spent hours on her hair & make-up. Having Marianne pick out her clothes so that they would be 'fashionable' & impress him. She had spent so much time doing this for him!

After sitting at their booth for a while, she caught sight of his chocolate locks & tanned skin. She ran up & tried to kiss him, but he had quickly turned his head to avoid kissing her lips. Alice backed away, looking up at the Spaniard questioningly.

Then she noticed the girl standing behind Antonio. A little short, with olive skin, shining hazel & luscious, wavy brown locks, not to mention those Angelina lips. Obviously so skinny as to fit in size zero jeans. She was beautiful, even in Alice's eyes. And she was obviously pissed. "Antonio, chi è?"

The world crashed down around Alice. It was obvious what was happening here…They were over. Antonio handed her a small envelope imprinted with the Union Jack (technically the Union flag, but she overlooked the misconception shortly after moving to America.). The love letter. Alice looked up at him questioningly, eyes glazing over with unshed tears.

"I like her better." Antonio said in a slightly apologetic tone. "I'm sorry."

The blonde forced a smile & told the biggest lie she's ever spoken. "It's okay, Toni. Happy Valentine's Day."

Antonio pulled Alice into a short hug before turning back to this new girl. "Let's go, Lovi~!"

Lovina scowled. "Don't call me that, bastardo." She hissed, taking his arm & all but dragging him out of the diner.

Alice waved goodbye as she watched the two leave. As soon as they were gone she started to cry. She had put all her faith in Antonio, but he was obviously the wrong guy. It was over.

Alice wished she could stop the flow of tears down her face. She was in public. She shouldn't be worked up over that...Jerk! Looser! Idiot! She had never felt so stupid in her life. 'How could I have not seen this coming?' she thought, scratching his name into the diner's table she was sitting at.

February 14. Valentine's Day. And Alice had been dumped on the curb for that beautiful girl. She was just average. And that wasn't enough for Antonio. She was filled with a sad, lonely feeling. Nobody here could comfort her like he could've.
