The hours crawled by like years when Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson had to be apart, but even more so for Kurt knowing that his boyfriend will have to have surgery on his eye in a few days' time.

Kurt checked the school's clocks what had to be every five minutes that day, the day after Blaine took the slushie for him, and could think of nothing but going to Blaine's as soon as the final bell sounded. So as soon as it did, he rushed out with barely a "goodbye" to his friends and took the shortest route to Blaine's.

Blaine's parents opened up the door with a warm smile and Kurt rushed up stairs and straight into Blaine's room with the littlest of knocks.

"Hey, honey," Kurt said softly, smiling, as he came into the room and shut the door behind him.

Blaine cracked an eye open at the sound of the familiar voice he loves coming from the body sitting next to him on the bed. "Hi," he whispered voice still half asleep, and he reached out and pulled Kurt down so he was half-lying next to him.

Kurt, head rested on the top of the head board, turned to Blaine. "How're you feeling today?"

"Mmh, okay."

"Just okay?" Kurt's face fell just a little bit.

"Better…" Blaine said, smiling at Kurt.

Kurt smiled back and for a few minutes they were just there looking into each other's eyes until Blaine broke the silence. "So… What did McKinley have in store for you today?"

"Well, I lost my temper at Rachel because she was being annoying during Glee today. And Brittany. And Puck."

Blaine's eyes widened and he was laughing a little.

"It wasn't my fault, though," Kurt said pulling himself and Blaine up into a sitting position on the bed, "And then Mr. Schue brought in this Spanish Teacher guy to teach us about Spanish songs and he was really quite hot."

"Should I be worried?" Blaine asked, resting his head on Kurt's shoulder.

"Yes," Kurt answered shortly, and Blaine could hear the smile in his voice, knowing he was joking. He turned his head up from his boyfriend's shoulder and Kurt bent down and kissed the top of his head. "Anyway, what have you been doing all day?"

"Oh, you know… Just the usual: bird watching, reading, all other activities that require two good eyes," Blaine smiled innocently into Kurt's shoulder.

"Don't joke like that! It's not funny!" Kurt's tone was almost pleading. "I feel bad enough about it."

Blaine sat up straight and looked Kurt straight in the way with a questioning look. "Kurt, I told you yesterday that none of this is your fault."

"How? How is this not my fault?" Kurt gestured to Blaine's bad eye.

"You didn't throw the slushie, you didn't plan it… You had no idea it was even coming. "

"It was meant for me… But you, being so wonderful and nice, almost lost your eye for me."

"And if there's anyone I'd willingly loose an eye for, it's you," Blaine grabbed Kurt's two hands in his and rubbed his thumbs over them.

Kurt smiled faintly then looked back at Blaine. "I'm sorry... Still."

Blaine gave Kurt a mock annoyed look and then smiled at him, before resituating his head where it had been before.

After a few seconds of silence, Kurt freed one of his hands from Blaine's to run it through Blaine's hair, "Doesn't it hurt, though?"

Blaine looked thoughtful then said, "It does. But it hurts more knowing it might've been you in my position right now."

"I thought we agreed you wouldn't do that…"

"Do what?" Blaine raised an eyebrow.

"… Make me fall for you more and more by being so romantic and stuff." Kurt said thoughtfully.

Blaine lifted his head again from Kurt's shoulder and kissing him gently.

"You know I love you, right?" Kurt asked.

"Yeah, why?" Blaine wondered. "And I love you, too."

Kurt smiled at him before answering, "Just checking."
