Disclaimer: Unfortunately the characters of Valiant do not belong to me, cause if they did, there would have been more intimate situations between Val and Ravus.

3 Main Rules to Nevermore: "Nevermore than once a day

Nevermore than a pinch at a time

Nevermore than two days in a row" Valiant by Holly Black

Side Effects of Nevermore

He was cornered, and as his eyes darted swiftly, trying to find a possible exit, I crawled towards him.

Drinking in his sense of uncertainty, was starting to make me feel bold, and as my forehead bumped against his legs, his fear started to feel like a spiked drink.

A drink that would hopefully drive away the emptiness.

Emptiness, a feeling that wouldn't go away, no matter how many needles I dug onto my flesh.

I started to raise my hands, dragging them up his legs and once they reached his lower thigh, a gasp escaped his control.

That sound brought a smile to my lips.

I reached the belt hoops of his pants, and with that I brought my body up against his.

His golden eyes widened, and his hands formed into fists at his sides, as if afraid of what the two sets of limbs would do.

With my fingertips I ran my hand up his arm, and I loved it.

I loved the fact that one little action had him already breathing hard, with his eyes clenched shut, his body would slightly spasm under my gaze.

I was not in control for long; his eyes opened and suddenly I was painfully pushed towards the wall with one of his hands he held my arms above my head, preventing me much movement.

He buried his face in my neck, his fangs grazing my neck, and as these events were unfolding my heart started to beat faster and now my breathing came out in shallow pants.

He moved his lips from my neck towards my ear and whispered, "What game are you playing at?"

I turned my head, and tried to say a witty response, but the sight of his lips caught my attention. Just the mere thought of the places those lips could go had set my blood boiling

With that I leaned forward, with his lips as my destination.

Gasping for air, I launched forward, my eyes adjusting to the darkness.

I looked around trying to familiarize myself with my surroundings.

There no longer were any shelves filled with dusty old books. Nor, was there a worktable littered with hard pieces of chewed gum, gum wrappers, cans and lip stained butts of cigarettes. "A kiss that never ends…The breath of a man." He had once explained to me that people themselves made these items truly magical.

Instead I found myself in an abandoned subway platform, wrapped around in a blanket that smelled faintly of cat piss.
