Fury throbbed and pulsed about her temples as she clenched angry fists; supprssing the urge to smash them against a human Inuyasha. "Why did you leave camp? And, more importantly, where are the Shikon shards?" she said in a pseudo-calm monotone. Not only had a rouge demon wrecked havoc upon the campsite, but Inuyasha was in his most vulnerable form, rendering him useless to the rest of the troupe. And, for some unknown reason, Inuyasha had slipped into the forest, the Shikon shards in tow. She found him after several hours of searching, beside a small brook.
In the moonlight, Inuyasha's dark human hair took on an almost silver cast, similar to his everyday demon-locks. And yet, today something seemed different as he solemnly stared into the brook's watery shallows. He pensively fingered the vial of shards, biting his lip. Then he glanced up at her. "Kagome, I'm tired of all this. I'm tired of this blasted indecision between you and Kikyo, hell, I'm worse than a woman. I'm tired of all the stupid, eternal fighting. But, most of all, I'm tired of denying the blatant truth."
Her anger seemed to melt away. Inuyasha's calm honey eyes always made her a little wooosy, killing all negative emotion lingering inside. Her voice softened, "Inuyasha, what on earth are you talking about?" And then his hands, his smooth, strong human hands, clasped her small ones. Wow, Inuyasha's face was a lot closer than she realized. She attempted to speak, but...
His lips met hers and melted together in a most pleasurable array of emotion and lust. It begun slowly but escalated into deliciously violent urgence, Inuyasha breathing heavily as he stroked her hair and neck. It was one, maybe two minutes of bliss before she realized...
"INUYASHA! What are we doing?"
He gently pushed a whisp of her hair to the side and said, "I'm sick of it all, I just want to be with you. I want you, Kagome. Not anyone else or anything in the world."
"But the camp! Shippo's in danger, there's a rogue demon running around and we need the Shikon shards! I--What are you doing?"
Inuyasha began to kiss her neck, slowly and passionately. Between kisses he whispered in her ear, "I don't care about it anymore. Let's run away, let's never see them again. And we can be together always...I'll take care of you, Kagome, I want you."
She pushed him away, crying, "You selfish little child! You don't care about anybody but yourself! Don't you realize, your friends are in danger. We need your help, this can wait until another time!"
Then Inuyasha shoved her to the ground. "I don't CARE! We're happy together, who gives a damn about anyone else?"
She crawled up from the ground and slapped him. "Goodbye, Inuyasha." Grabbing the Shikon shards, she ran into the forest as Inuyasha's hand fell empty to his side.
"Kagome, wait!"
But she couldn't hear him.
